De Novo Design and Directed Evolution Refinement of Mirror‐Image Protein Binders Targeting Interleukin‐4

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents the de novo design and directed evolution of a mirror‐image D‐protein inhibitor targeting human interleukin‐4 (IL‐4). The engineered molecule exhibits nanomolar binding affinity for IL‐4 and effectively inhibits IL‐4–mediated signaling.

Nonlinearity- and dispersion- less integrated optical time magnifier based on a high-Q SiN microring resonator

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2019
The ability to measure optical signals with fast dynamics is of significant interest in many application fields. Usually, single-shot measurements of non-periodic signals can be enabled by time magnification methods.

Laser‐Induced Ultrafast Magnetic Phase Transition in 2D Van Der Waals Antiferromagnetic Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, ultrafast laser‐induced spin transfer and spin relaxation dynamics in 2D van der Waals antiferromagnetic CrI3/CrGeTe3 heterostructures are investigated. Laser excitation is demonstrated to induce pronounced interlayer nonequilibrium spin dynamics and ultrafast magnetic moment reconstruction, driving a transition from an antiferromagnetic (

Measurement Accuracy Enhancement via Radio Frequency Filtering in Distributed Brillouin Sensing

open access: yesSensors, 2019
In this article, we demonstrate the noise reduction and signal to noise ratio (SNR) enhancement in Brillouin optical time-domain analyzers (BOTDA). The results show that, although the main noise contribution comes from the Brillouin interaction itself, a

Photon‐Sphere Modes in Curved Optical Microcavities: A Black‐Hole Analogue Laser

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An optical analogue of a Schwarzschild black hole is realized using curved microcavities that preserve light‐like geodesics. A new family of laser modes confined around the photon sphere is identified alongside conventional whispering‐gallery modes. Analytical theory, numerical simulations, and experiments reveal curvature‐induced confinement, enabling

Compact Optical Sampler for Broadband Wireless Signals

open access: yesIEEE Access
Sampling is the first step in analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) and especially the photonic assistance of electronic ADCs may be a viable solution to address the bottleneck in processing the envisioned peak data rates of 1 Tbit/s for 6G and beyond ...

Efficient low-power terahertz generation via on-chip triply-resonant nonlinear frequency mixing

open access: yes, 2009
Achieving efficient terahertz (THz) generation using compact turn-key sources operating at room temperature and modest power levels represents one of the critical challeges that must be overcome to realize truly practical applications based on THz. Up to

Transient Terahertz Oscillations During Photoinduced Polarization Topology Reconfiguration in Ferroelectric Superlattices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Terahertz resonances in crystalline heterostructures could close a spectral gap between conventional electronics and photonics while opening new windows on non‐equilibrium lattice dynamics. Femtosecond optical screening of the depolarization field in epitaxial PbTiO3/SrTiO3 superlattices launches a collective polar mode that oscillates near 1 THz and ...

Dirac Surface‐State Driven Broad Spectral Band Low Quantum Energy Photoresponse in Quaternary Topological BiSbSe2Te

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Quaternary topological BiSbSe2Te are synthesized and demonstrates a broad spectral band photoresponse, ranging from infrared to terahertz and to millimeter waves, with a particular excellence on detection of low quantum energy terahertz photons. The observed photoresponse is attributed to the excitation of plasmonic nonequilibrium electrons originating
