Deposition and characterization of Ti–Ni–Pd and Ti–Ni–Pt shape memory alloy thin films
Smart Materials and Structures, 2005Thin films of Ti–Ni–Pd and Ti–Ni–Pt shape memory alloys were produced by a DC magnetron sputtering process. Targets with the following compositions were studied: Ti54Ni16Pd30, Ti54Ni6Pd40, Ti54Ni3Pd43 and Ti54Ni26Pt20. The films were deposited on SiO2/Si substrates at ambient temperature and were crystallized in situ at 550 °C for 1 h.

Internal friction of Ti–Ni alloys
Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2000Abstract The low-frequency internal friction and the modulus have been measured on Ti–Ni alloys of varying compositions, from Ni 49.89 to 51.0 at. %, in a wide range of temperatures covering the martensitic and the reverse transformations. The effect of heat treatment on the internal friction has also been investigated.

fcc titanium in Ti/Ni multilayers
Materials Letters, 1995Abstract Titanium layers 40, 90 and 220 nm thick in nickel-titanium multilayer thin films are shown to deposit with a hexagonal close packed structure that transforms to a face centered cubic structure when thinned, using an ion beam, for transmission electron microscopy. Implications for recent reports of polymorphic fcc Ti in multilayers are noted.

Microstructural dependence on middle eigenvalue in Ti–Ni–Au
Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2014Abstract The microstructure of various compounds of the Ti–Ni–Au alloy system is investigated by transmission electron microscopy in relation with changing lattice parameters improving the compatibility conditions between austenite and martensite expressed by the λ 2 = 1 equation based on the Geometrically NonLinear Theory of Martensite (GNLTM ...

Two-way shape memory effect induced by cold-rolling in Ti–Ni and Ti–Ni–Fe alloys
Scripta Materialia, 2005Abstract Martensitic transformation temperatures and the two-way shape memory effect (TWME) of cold-rolled Ti–Ni and Ti–Ni–Fe alloys are investigated with a dilatometer (DL). While the characteristic features of martensitic (M) transformation temperatures are basically consistent with previous findings on Ti–Ni alloys, the TWME directions of Ti–Ni–Fe

The phase equilibria of the Ti-Ni-Sn and Ti-Ni-Sb ternary systems have been studied in the whole concentration range by means of X-ray and EPM analyses at 1073 K and 873 K, respectively. Four ternary intermetallic compounds TiNiSn (MgAgAs-type), TiNi2-xSn (MnCu2Al-type), Ti2Ni2Sn (U2Pt2Sn-type), and Ti5NiSn3 (Hf5CuSn3-type) are formed in Ti-Ni-Sn ...

Mechanical Alloying of the Ti–Ni System
physica status solidi (a), 1998There kinds of Ti-Ni elemental powders, Ti 45 Ni 55 , Ti 50 Ni 50 and Ti 55 Ni 45 , were mechanically alloyed by a planetary ball mill for alloying times up to 10 h, and the alloying process and the microstructures after heating at temperature of 1273 K were investigated by powder X-ray diffractometry. The Ti 55 Ni 45 powder formed an amorphous phase
