Preparation of Cu-based bulk metallic glasses by suction casting [PDF]
A series of Cu-Hf-Ti alloys prepared by rapid solidification of the melt and by copper mould casting were studied in the present work. Alloy ingots were prepared by arc-melting mixtures of pure metals in an argon atmosphere.

FEATURES OF STRUCTURE FORMATION AND CHANGES IN THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF CAST AlMgSiMn ALLOY WITH THE ADDITION OF Ti+Zr [PDF]
The as-cast and heat-treated structure of permanent mould castings of AlMg5Si2Mn alloys with different contents of Ti has been investigated by differential scanning calorimetry, hardness and microhardness measurements, tensile tests and fractography ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

High production costs of Ti alloys usually hinders their use in industry sectors like the automotive and hence, low-cost titanium alloys could broaden titanium alloy usage. This work presents the study of three alloys— Ti-Fe, Ti-Fe-Al, and Ti-Fe-Cr&

Grindability of Dental Cast Ti-Ag and Ti-Cu Alloys
Experimental Ti-Ag alloys (5, 10, and 20 mass% Ag) and Ti-Cu alloys (2, 5, and 10 mass% Cu) were cast into magnesia molds using a dental casting machine, and their grindability was investigated. At the lowest grinding speed (500 m min(-1)), there were no statistical differences among the grindability values of the titanium and titanium alloys.

Homologous expression and purification of human HAX‐1 for structural studies
This research protocol provides detailed instructions for cloning, expressing, and purifying large quantities of the intrinsically disordered human HAX‐1 protein, N‐terminally fused to a cleavable superfolder GFP, from mammalian cells. HAX‐1 is predicted to undergo posttranslational modifications and to interact with membranes, various cellular ...

Effect of composition on the structure and properties of Ti-Co-Cr alloys [PDF]
The present work is a study of six as-cast Ti-Co-Cr alloys in the Ti-rich region with the purpose of examining the possibility of obtaining a new β-type Ti-alloys.

Surface segregation of Ti in Fe-Ti alloys.
The behavior of Ti in Fe-0.29, 0.64 and 1.48 wt%Ti alloys has been investigated using a time-of-flight atom-probe. Ti segregates to the surface when Fe-Ti samples are heated at and above 600°C in vacuum. Enrichment of Ti (includes titanium oxide formation) at the outermost surface layer is 90% at the (110) and (111) planes, 50% at the (211) plane and ...
