Deformation and Recrystallization Behaviour of the TiAl Phase Constituting the TiAl/Ti3Al Lamellar Structure of Ti-rich TiAl Compounds.

open access: yesISIJ International, 1991
We have grown TiAl crystals of a nearly stoichiometric composition composed of a single lamellar grain as well as those composed of two lamellar grains and studied their deformation behaviour at room temperature. The deformation behaviour of lamellar grains depends strongly on their lamellar orientation.

Elevated Temperature Oxidation and Corrosion of a Titanium Aluminide Alloy [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Titanium aluminides are being developed to expand the temperature capability of titanium alloys with maximum service temperatures around 700*C. These materials also have the ability to replace nickel superalloys with potential applications in the high ...

Enhanced Terahertz Thermoelectricity Via Engineered Van Hove Singularities and Nernst Effect in Moiré Superlattices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Moiré band engineering in graphene/hexagonal boron nitride–based superlattices unlocks van Hove singularities (VHSs) for terahertz (THz) optoelectronics. Tuning the Fermi level near these singularities, associated with secondary neutrality points (SNPs), enhances the photothermoelectric response.

Study of Titanium based Composite Coatings for Resistance against Molten Aluminium Soldering on H13 Tool Steel

open access: yes, 2011
The service life of industrial components is limited predominantly by chemical corrosion, mechanical failure or mechanical wear. In the aluminium high pressure die casting industry, liquid aluminium is extremely reactive with the constituents of H13 die ...

The Role of Boron in TiAl Alloy Development – A Review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Boron was found to be a unique grain refiner in cast TiAl alloys in the beginning of 1990s and has become an element in most of the TiAl alloys developed to date.

Regulated Ion‐Diffusion Hydrogels for Subtle and Multimodal Temperature‐Strain Sensing in Wound Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A soft, dual‐channel hydrogel patch enables simultaneous detection of wound temperature and strain by integrating ion‐diffusion‐mediated thermoelectric and resistive sensing. The conformal design maintains stable performance during motion, capturing subtle inflammatory and mechanical changes for continuous wound monitoring.

Microstructure of Layered Porous TiAl Composite Sheet Synthesized by Reacted Sintering

open access: yesJournal of Harbin University of Science and Technology, 2019
In this paper, pure Ti foil, pure Al powder and pure Nb powder are used as raw materials Firstly, AlNb composite foil was prepared by powder metallurgy process, and then layered porous TiAl alloy sheet is prepared by foil metallurgy The results show ...

Experimental investigation of laser peening on TiAl alloy microstructure and properties

open access: yes, 2015
In order to study the effect of laser peening on microstructures and properties of TiAl alloy, TiAl alloy samples were treated by Nd:YAG laser system with the wavelength of 1064nm, pulse-width of 18ns, and pulse-energy of 0-10J.

Omnipolar Magnetic Field Detection by Superlattice‐Based Hall Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic‐field‐induced electronic switching is demonstrated in unit‐cell‐engineered La0.7Sr0.3MnO3–BiFeO3 superlattices. Distinct substrate terminations modify magnetic and transport properties. Hall resistance measurements show omnipolar, hysteretic anomalous Hall switching above the Curie temperature, arising from Fe─Mn interfacial exchange, enabling

Microstructure and mechanical properties of TiAl castings produced by zirconia ceramic mould [PDF]

open access: yesChina Foundry, 2011
Owing to their low density and attractive high-temperature properties, gamma titanium aluminide alloys (TiAl alloys, hereafter) have significant potential application in the aerospace and automobile industries, in which these materials may replace the ...
