Deployable boom for Mars Orbiter Magnetometer onboard Tianwen-1

JUSTC, 2022
A more than 3 m-long deployable boom is an essential component of the Mars Orbiter Magnetometer (MOMAG) onboard the orbiter of Tianwen-1. The boom was developed to place fluxgate magnetometer (FGM) sensors away from the satellite to reduce the influence of the satellite magnetic field.

Design and Realization of China Tianwen-1 Energetic Particle Analyzer

Space Science Reviews, 2021
The Mars radiation environment, both in past and at present, plays a vital role in the evolution of Martian atmosphere, so it is necessary to detect the background radiation environment both in the Martian atmosphere and the transfer orbit from Earth to Mars.

Prossima al traguardo, Tianwen-1 fotografa Marte

2021

The Development of Emergency Communication Device for Tianwen-1 Probe

Guidance, Navigation and Control, 2022
Mars is one of the most valuable planets for space exploration. After entering the entry descent and landing (EDL) phase, the spacecraft would carry out a series of procedural deceleration operations and achieve soft landing on the surface of Mars. In the process of EDL, the landing platform would encounter a series of irreversible incidents within ...

Cosa faranno Hope, Tianwen-1 e Perseverance

2021

Tianwen-1 observations of Martian oxygen ion plumes

Mars does not possess an intrinsic magnetic field to shield it from solar wind invasion. Therefore, the ionized particles in the top atmosphere can thus interact with the solar wind and escape into interplanetary space. The solar wind convection electric field ESW can accelerate the oxygen ions in the Martian ionosphere and pick them up into space ...

Seasonal variations of the Martian magnetosphere: Tianwen-1 observations

Mars exhibits a unique hybrid magnetospheric environment, characterized by interactions between the solar wind and both the ionosphere and the localized crustal magnetic fields. This configuration renders the Martian magnetosphere highly sensitive to external influences, including solar activity and seasonal variations.
