Environmental Preferences and Functional Variations of Methanotrophs in Northeast Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau Wetlands

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 3, June 2026.
Significant environmental preference between type I and type II methanotrophs is regulated by soil ion concentration (pH and electrical conductivity) in wetlands. Type II methanotrophs (Methylocystis, etc.) contributes more to soil methane oxidation than type I methanotrophs.

Effects of all-trans retinoic acid and oxygen concentration on the proliferation and differentiation of subcutaneous adipocytes in yak

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
In this study, we investigated the mechanism by which all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) regulates the hypoxic adaptation of yak subcutaneous adipocytes through a dose-dependent regulation.

Machine Learning Reveals Hidden Bias in ERA5 Cloud Heights Over Earth's Third Pole

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 10, 28 May 2026.
Abstract Accurate cloud base height (CBH) over the Tibetan Plateau—Earth's Third Pole—is essential for monsoon dynamics, glacial melt, and water security, yet ERA5 systematically underestimates it. Here, we present a two‐step machine learning framework to mitigate this hidden bias.

Radon‐222 as an Effective Tracer to Distinguish Groundwater Circulation Patterns in the Deep Fault‐Controlled Geothermal System

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 10, 28 May 2026.
Abstract Groundwater flow regulated by deep faults remains challenging to trace due to structural complexity. This study applies the noble gas tracer 222Rn combined with hydrochemistry and stable isotopes (δ2H, δ18O) to distinguish circulation patterns of geothermal springs along a major fault in the Tibetan Plateau.
