Australasian Radiology, 1998SUMMARYThe tibia is a fairly common site for stress fractures of both the fatigue and insufficiency types. The majority are transverse or, less frequently, oblique. The present report outlines four cases of vertical stress fractures, an orientation that is very uncommon and leads to bone scan findings which can be misleading.
