Neuronal Cholesterol Deficiency Mediated by Astrocytic SREBP2 Downregulation Leads to Postoperative Cognitive Dysfunction Through Impairment of Hippocampal Synaptic Plasticity and Excitatory Synaptic Transmission

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The results showed that the reduction of plasma 24‐hydroxycholesterol (24‐OHC) was related to the cognitive decline in elderly surgical patients. Neuroinflammation induced by anesthesia and surgery significantly downregulated SREBP2 in hippocampal reactive astrocytes, resulting in reduced cholesterol synthesis.

MRI comparison of injury mechanism and anatomical factors between sexes in non-contact anterior cruciate ligament injuries.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Non-contact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture is mostly caused by a pivot shift mechanism including valgus collapse and internal tibial rotation. In female athletes, the incidence of ACL rupture has been reported to be significantly higher than in

Self‐Assembled Myricetin‐Arginine Conjugate Nanozymes for Targeted Suppression of Joint Inflammation and Osteoclastogenesis in Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Carrier‐free myricetin‐arginine conjugate nanozymes (MANZs) have been fabricated through a Mannich reaction and spontaneous self‐assembly. MANZs selectively accumulate in inflamed joints by targeting M1 macrophages via CAT2‐mediated uptake. The nanozymes can effectively modulate macrophage polarization, suppress osteoclast differentiation, and mitigate

CGRP Enhances the Regeneration of Bone Defects by Regulating Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cells Through Promoting ANGPTL4 Secretion by Bone Blood Vessels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CGRP interacts with HMEC‐1 by binding to surface receptors, influencing the downstream FAK/AKT/VEGF signaling pathway, and promoting the secretion of ANGPTL4 from vascular endothelial cells into the bone microenvironment. This, in turn, regulates the differentiation of BMSCs into osteoblasts, thus promoting bone formation. ABSTRACT Bone angiogenesis is

Spinal and Supraspinal Motor Control Predictors of Rate of Torque Development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
During explosive movements and potentially injurious situations, the ability to rapidly generate torque is critical. Previous research has suggested that different phases of rate of torque development (RTD) are differentiately controlled.

Mannose‐Modified Cationic Liposome‐Based mRNA Therapeutics for Improved Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of mTEM8‐loaded cationic liposome (cLipo‐Man/mTEM8) therapeutics for improved triple‐negative breast cancer immunotherapy. Despite triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) is the most heterogeneous and aggressive subtype of breast cancer, immunotherapy is emerging as a promising therapy.

Slope-Reducing Anterior Closing Wedge Proximal Tibial Osteotomy, Anterior Cruciate Ligament Tunnel Bone Grafting, and Unstable Medial Meniscus Ramp Repair as a First-Stage Procedure

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques
Revision anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) requires heightened levels of preoperative patient planning to evaluate for known risk factors of a primary ACLR graft failure.

Genetic mapping of distal femoral, stifle, and tibial radiographic morphology in dogs with cranial cruciate ligament disease.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Cranial cruciate ligament disease (CCLD) is a complex trait. Ten measurements were made on orthogonal distal pelvic limb radiographs of 161 pure and mixed breed dogs with, and 55 without, cranial cruciate partial or complete ligament rupture.
