Doubly robust criterion for causal inference

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract In causal inference, semiparametric estimation using propensity scores has rapidly developed in various directions. At the same time, although model selection is indispensable in statistical analysis, an information criterion for selecting the regression structure between the potential outcome and explanatory variables has not been well ...

Analytical Study of Lanolin as Potential Biomarker of Prehistoric Sheep‐Shearing Practice

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
Lanolin, a complex wax found on sheep wool, accumulates on shearing tools, such as flint and obsidian blades, used since the Neolithic. This study explores lanolin's degradation patterns as a potential biomarker for prehistoric sheep‐shearing practices, employing micro‐Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy, hyperspectral imaging, and gas ...

Development of Water‐Dispersible CuS Nanoparticles for Chemo–Photothermal Therapy and Photoacoustic Application

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
Water‐dispersible CuS nanoparticles are developed by the soft chemical approach using phosphorylethanolamine as a surface passivation agent for chemo–photothermal therapy and photoacoustic application. Photothermal therapy (PTT) is a promising treatment option for cancer. However, biocompatibility, water dispersibility, and good photoresponsiveness are

Constructing a cave sediment stratigraphy for the Dachstein Massif sheds light on landscape evolution (Eastern Alps)

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, EarlyView.
Five large Alpine cave systems on the Dachstein (Austria) were investigated and 35 sediment profiles or outcrops between 860 m a.s.l. and 1945 m a.s.l. were analysed. An altitude‐dependent overall stratigraphy is established and depositional conditions and palaeo‐environments are reconstructed.
