The effect of microstructure and strength on the fracture toughness of an 18 Ni, 300 grade maraging steel [PDF]

open access: yes
Fractography and metallographic sectioning were used to investigate the influence of microstructure and strength on the fracture toughness (KIc) and fracture mechanism of an 18 Ni, 300 grade maraging steel. Increased yield strength from 1442 to 2070 MN/m

The association between attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder and narrative language: What is the role of executive function?

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Research suggests that Attention‐Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) may be associated with narrative language (or storytelling) difficulties, and executive functioning is hypothesized to underlie this association. However, the contribution of executive function to the narrative language production of children with ADHD is unclear

Assessing cognition in autistic youth with and without attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder using the NIH Toolbox Cognition Battery: An Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes‐Wide Cohort Study

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Autistic individuals tend to experience difficulties with fluid cognition as found previously, with minimal impact of ADHD. However, there was a notable proportion of autistic individuals with average or superior cognitive performance, highlighting the importance of strength‐based and transdiagnostic research approaches.

Cross‐cultural variations in executive function impairments among children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
This study explores the role of culture in executive function (EF) deficits in children with ADHD by comparing Chinese and Australian populations. Using rigorous methodologies such as propensity score matching and consistent diagnostic procedures, the research reveals distinct EF profiles, including a subgroup of Chinese children with severe EF ...

Clay Mineral–Hydrophobic Organic Compound Interactions in Miniaturized Adsorption Experiments: Exemplary Studies With Bentonites and Hexachlorobenzene

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, EarlyView.
Clay mineral–hydrophobic organic compound interactions were studied with hexachlorobenzene and 21 bentonites. Adsorption strength varies depending on bentonite properties. For highly adsorptive bentonites, adsorption is comparable with adsorption to organic matter.
