Utility of ultra-rapid real-time PCR for detection and prevalence of Rickettsia spp. in ticks
Background Rickettsia spp. are important tick-borne pathogens that cause various human and animal diseases worldwide. A tool for rapid and accurate detection of the pathogens from its vectors is necessary for prevention of Rickettsioses propagation in ...

Ticks From Mink and Their Associated Microorganisms in Spain
Wildlife is an important source of emerging zoonotic agents, including tick‐borne ones. Wild carnivores such as mink are commonly parasitized by ticks, which are vectors and reservoirs of zoonotic diseases. Besides the importance of these arthropods as potential sources of diseases in mink, and the role of these mammals as reservoirs of infectious ...

Prevalence of Anaplasma, Ehrlichia and Rickettsia infections in dogs in Iran: A meta‐analysis study
This study assesses Rickettsiales bacteria prevalence in Iranian dogs, which can affect both animals and humans. Dogs’ interactions with people and livestock make them potential carriers of these zoonotic pathogens. Data gathered until 1 March 2022, from various sources revealed disparities among genera, with 20.1% for Anaplasma spp.

The occurrence of sporadic rickettsial infections has been consistently undervalued and overlooked, primarily owing to a limited emphasis on routine examinations for rickettsioses in clinical practice. At present, the immunofluorescence assay is the prevailing diagnostic method for suspected rickettsioses that enables the detection of specific ...

Tick‐borne diseases affecting domestic animals and humans have increased globally in recent years. Pakistan, in particular, faces a significant economic threat from ticks, where two specific species, Rhipicephalus microplus and Hyalomma anatolicum, act as vectors for various pathogens such as piroplasma, Anaplasma, Ehrlichia, and Rickettsia that pose a
