Voltage‐Reconfigurable Magneto‐Ionic Nanolayers in Dot Arrays for Probabilistic, Materials‐Engineered Security Primitives

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A magneto‐ionic security‐by‐materials‐design strategy exploits voltage‐driven N3– migration in selectively contacted FeCoN dots, creating reconfigurable sub‐15 nm ferromagnetic sublayers with deterministic and/or probabilistic (single‐domain↔vortex) states, voltage‐tunable probabilities and fully stochastic orientation/chirality.

Circulating microRNA profiles associated with tick bite and debilitating symptom complexes attributed to ticks (DSCATT)

open access: yesScientific Reports
Tick bites in Australia are associated with a poorly understood syndrome known as Debilitating Symptom Complexes Attributed to Ticks (DSCATT), however, the underlying biological mechanisms remain unclear.

Skin ulcer and maculopapular rash with inguinal lymph node enlargement: a case report of a 46-year-old female patient from north-eastern Poland with Rickettsia spp. and Francisella tularensis co-infection

open access: yesCentral European Journal of Immunology
North-eastern Poland is an endemic region for tick-borne diseases, especially Lyme disease and tick-borne encephalitis. However, less common diseases such as rickettsiosis and tularemia may occur after a tick bite.

Senkyunolide I Inhibits mtDNA‐cGAS‐STING Signaling in Macrophages via Targeting VDAC1 Oligomerization to Attenuate Ulcerative Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In macrophages, senkyunolide I (SEI) directly targets the K12 residue of VDAC1 to inhibit its stress‐induced oligomerization, a critical upstream event that effectively prevents mitochondrial DNA release and subsequent cGAS‐STING pathway activation.

Trends in incidence of tick bites and physician-reported early and late Lyme borreliosis in the Netherlands

open access: yesTicks and Tick-Borne Diseases
Lyme borreliosis (LB) is a prevalent vector-borne disease in Europe. Untreated, it can cause severe complications, with some patients experiencing persistent symptoms post-treatment.

Isocyanate‐Modified Melatplatin(IV) Enhances Antitumor Efficacy via TCF4/COL6A3‐Mediated Extracellular Matrix Remodeling and cGAS‐STING Pathway Activation in Bladder Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A series of melatonin‐conjugated platinum(IV) prodrugs was functionalized with isocyanate chains (compounds 5‒12). MP‐12C (compound 11) was identified as the lead candidate, with optimal potency and safety. MP‐12C exhibited greater efficacy than cisplatin by increasing intracellular uptake, reshaping the extracellular matrix, activating the cGAS‐STING ...

Factors driving tick bite risk during a high-density outdoor activity

open access: yesTicks and Tick-Borne Diseases
Understanding the factors driving individual exposure to tick bites is essential for predicting tick-borne disease risk. We analyzed data from a 6-day international orienteering competition held in July 2018 in the forests of Moselle, France, involving ...

First report of African tick-bite fever in a South American traveler

open access: yesSAGE Open Medical Case Reports, 2018
We report a clinical case of African tick-bite fever in a Brazilian traveler right after his return from South Africa. Definitive diagnosis was supported by seroconversion between acute-phase and convalescent-phase serum samples, detection of rickettsial

Decoding Biomolecular Phase Separation: From Physiological Roles to Pathological Mechanisms and Therapeutic Biomaterials Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review systematically elaborates on the mechanisms underlying physiological regulation and pathological dysregulation of biomolecular phase separation. It also summarizes advances in phase‑separation‑targeted therapeutic strategies and the design of functional biomaterials inspired by this process.
