Screening for tick-borne and tick-associated viruses in ticks collected in Ghana

Archives of Virology, 2021
Ticks are blood-sucking arthropods that transmit many pathogens, including arboviruses. Arboviruses transmitted by ticks are generally referred to as tick-borne viruses (TBVs). Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock...

EAS Publications Series, 2014
The Gaia dataset will require a huge leap forward in terms of modelling of the Milky Way. Two problems are highlighted here. First, models of the Galactic Bar remain primitive as compared to the Galactic Disk and Stellar Halo. Although Schwarzschild and N-body methods are useful, the future belongs to Made-to-Measure (M2M) models which have significant

Tick symbiosis

Current Opinion in Insect Science
As obligate blood-feeders, ticks serve as vectors for a variety of pathogens that pose threats on both human and livestock health. The microbiota that ticks harbor play important roles in influencing tick nutrition, development, reproduction, and vector.

Biocontrol of Ticks

Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2000
