Properties of Galaxies Hosting X-ray Selected Active Galactic Nuclei in the Cl1604 Supercluster at z=0.9 [PDF]
To investigate the role of feedback from Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) in driving the evolution of their host galaxies, we have carried out a study of the environments and optical properties of galaxies harboring X-ray luminous AGN in the Cl1604 ...

ABSTRACT Urban coastal lagoons are highly vulnerable ecosystems increasingly affected by metal contamination, as well as multiple anthropogenic stressors. This study evaluated ecotoxicological and human health risks associated with chronic metal exposure in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) from an anthropogenically impacted lagoon in southeastern ...

Over the last 25 years, perceptions of the early prehistory of Northwest Africa have undergone radical changes due to new fieldwork projects and a corresponding growth in scientific interest in the region. Much of this work has been focused in Morocco, known for its extremely rich fossil and archaeological records in caves and rock shelters.

Exploring mechanisms responsible for tidal modulation in flow of the Filchner–Ronne Ice Shelf
. An extensive network of GPS sites on the Filchner–Ronne Ice Shelf and adjoining ice streams shows strong tidal modulation of horizontal ice flow at a range of frequencies.

Hurricane‐induced risk contagion in commercial real estate: Evidence from Hurricane Sandy
Abstract This study examines how hurricane‐induced destruction affects the prices of nearby undamaged commercial real estate properties, using Hurricane Sandy as a natural experiment. Using Real Capital Analytics transaction records spatially merged with Federal Emergency Management Agency building‐level damage data, we empirically employ a difference ...

The Discovery of New Galaxy Members in the NGC 5044 and NGC 1052 Groups
We present the results of neutral hydrogen (HI) observations of the NGC 5044 and NGC 1052 groups, as part of a GEMS (Group Evolution Multiwavelength Study) investigation into the formation and evolution of galaxies in nearby groups. Two new group members

Metabolome Diversity Enhances Resistance of Intertidal Clams to Thermal Stress
Meretrix species are widely distributed intertidal bivalves in China with significant ecological and economic importance, which are sensitive to thermal stress. Our results showed that thermal environments of clam habitats shaped metabolome diversity, which can enhance the resistance of intertidal clams to thermal stress.

This study investigates the role of ER stress in steroid resistance in severe asthma. Results from advanced 3D models of human bronchial epithelial cells, steroid‐resistant severe asthma mouse models, and human severe asthma sputum samples show that treatment with ICS in combination with the ER stress inhibitor 4‐PBA significantly enhances steroid ...
