Large-scale phenomena, chapter 3, part D [PDF]
Oceanic phenomena with horizontal scales from approximately 100 km up to the widths of the oceans themselves are examined. Data include: shape of geoid, quasi-stationary anomalies due to spatial variations in sea density and steady current systems, and ...

Biogeography of intertidal invertebrates is influenced by latitude along the west coast of Australia
Along the west coast of Australia, intertidal rock platforms support high invertebrate diversities that provide vital ecosystem services, yet patterns in diversity are not well understood. Here, we document and examine the invertebrate assemblages on intertidal rock platforms in Western Australia and delineate ecoregions according to assemblage ...

TIDAL CURRENTS IN CONSTRICTED INLETS
Many inlets along the coastline of North America are deep, wide bays which are connected to the ocean by a short channel of much smaller cross-section. Figure 1 is a schematic sketch of such an inlet. It is usual in these inlets that the tide curve (water surface elevation vs. time) in the bay does not coincide with that in the ocean.

The synergy of solar and mechanical energy enables a self‐powered photoelectrochemical cathodic protection system, which enhances carrier separation for efficient and sustainable anticorrosion. Harnessing the synergy of solar and mechanical energy presents a potential strategy for high‐efficiency photoelectrochemical cathodic protection.

Aqueous zinc–iodine batteries (Zn–I2Bs) offer promise for grid storage due to safety and cost advantages yet face critical bottlenecks: severe self‐discharge (polyiodide shuttling and HER), limited energy density, sluggish kinetics, and zinc anode instability.
