Near‐resonant excitation of the Adriatic barotropic modes: The seiche events of December 2019
This study examines severe flooding in the northern Adriatic Sea in December 2019, which existing forecasting systems failed to predict. Analysis of wind and sea‐level data, alongside reanalysis datasets and a high‐resolution hydrodynamic model, revealed a wind‐induced resonance mechanism.

Design and Experimental Application of the Tide Measurement System at the Antarctic Qinling Station
Ocean tidal observation is the most direct data for studying sea level change, and it is also the basic data for establishing regional elevation datums; it is particularly important to build a tide gauge system in the coastal areas of Antarctica to ...

We tested the respective effect of high‐flow and supplemental O2 from nasal high‐flow O2 therapy (NHFO2) on dyspnea and exercise tolerance in fibrotic interstitial lung disease. Supplemental O2 and NHFO2 (but not high‐flow) provided improvements in these outcomes at “iso‐O2 saturation” due to reduced ventilatory requirements.

Walking with huffing and the active cycle of breathing technique produced similar improvements in sputum expectoration and quality‐of‐life during hospitalisation for individuals experiencing a bronchiectasis exacerbation, while oscillating positive‐expiratory‐pressure therapy produced minimal changes.

ABSTRACT Salmonid fishes typically express anadromy. During their juvenile riverine emigration, their downstream movements can be inhibited by hydropower schemes that entrain fish in their intakes. Here, the riverine migration success of smolts of brown trout Salmo trutta (“trout smolt”) and Atlantic salmon Salmo salar smolts (“salmon smolt”) was ...
