International Journal of Geosciences, 2017 We analyse the location, stability and continuity of the two tide-gauge stations in Fiji. Both stations are awkwardly placed on heavy harbour constructions resting on soft sediments susceptible to serious compaction problems. The nearby GPS stations resting on a bedrock hill offer no solution to the stability problems.

SDPR–STK38 axis controls the proliferation–differentiation balance in alveolar type II cells
Animal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.The present study identifies SDPR as a pivotal regulator orchestrating the balance between proliferation and differentiation in alveolar type II (AT2) cells. In SDPR+/+ cells, SDPR binds to and inhibits STK38 activity, thereby sustaining GSK‐3β signaling functionality to promote cyclin D1 degradation and maintain cell cycle homeostasis.

Asia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Silver‐doped cerium oxide nanoparticles (Ag/CeO2 NPs) were synthesized using Ricinus communis seed extract as a bio‐derived fuel in a solution combustion method. The combustion reaction, carried out at 450°C with AgNO3 and (NH4)2[Ce (NO3)6] as metal precursors, produced CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 NPs.

Relative sea levels from tide-gauge records [PDF]
Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1980 Mean annual sea levels at 247 tide-gauge stations of the world exhibit a general rise of relative sea level of about 3 mm/year during the past 40 years. In contrast, general uplift of the land is typical of high northern latitudes, where unloading of the crust by melt of Pleistocene ice sheets is significant.
