Intrinsic and extrinsic geometries of a tidally deformed black hole
A description of the event horizon of a perturbed Schwarzschild black hole is provided in terms of the intrinsic and extrinsic geometries of the null hypersurface.

Seasonal Variability of the Labrador Current and Shelf Circulation off Newfoundland [PDF]
Three-dimensional finite element models were established for the Newfoundland and Labrador Shelf to investigate climatological monthly mean wind- and density-driven circulation.

Stacked nanoflake assembly (SNA) membranes can oscillate autonomously, offering opportunities for soft actuation and energy harvesting. This work uncovers the physical mechanism behind the sustained oscillation of SNA membranes in gradient humidity and identifies three governing dimensionless parameters, enabling rational design for optimizing SNA ...

A new tide model for the Mediterranean Sea based on altimetry and tide gauge assimilation [PDF]
The tides for the Mediterranean Sea are described through a high resolution model (MEDI10) developed by assimilation of tide-gauge data and T/P data into a barotropic ocean tide model.

Salt marshes as late Holocene tide gauges [PDF]
Abstract Understanding late Holocene to present relative sea-level changes at centennial or sub-centennial scales requires geological records that dovetail with the instrumental era. Salt marsh sediments are one of the most reliable geological tide gauges.

State-of-the-art in studies of glacial isostatic adjustment for the British Isles: a literature review [PDF]
Understanding the effects of glacial isostatic adjustment (GIA) of the British Isles is essential for the assessment of past and future sea-level trends.

Respiratory Signal Processing and Analysis Using Flexible Capacitive Sensor Data
Capacitive pressure sensors based on poly(glycerol sebacate) (PGS) substrates are developed for continuous, non‐invasive respiratory monitoring. Integrated with a signal processing algorithm, they enable accurate tracking of thoracic expansion and retraction.

A coherent phthalimide acceptor platform with planar (Cz—carbazole) and spiro‐type (SAF—spiroacridine fluorene) donors enables systematic tuning of donor geometry and coupling, driving the evolution of excited‐state topology from classical CT‐TADF and fluorescence/RTP to CT‐driven and LE‐assisted TADF with OLED efficiencies ≈ 36%.

M2 World Ocean tide from tide gauge measurements
An empirical model of the M2 oceanic tide has been computed from the harmonic constants of a subset of deep sea and coastal tide gauge measurements. The optimal interpolation of these data based on “inverse theory” uses a priori covariance functions deduced from a global hydrodynamical model.
