Improvement in Depth of Weld Penetration During TIG, Activated-TIG, and Pulsed TIG Welding

International Journal of Manufacturing, Materials, and Mechanical Engineering, 2021
Joining of dissimilar materials has gained a lot of interest in the recent years due to the increased demand of high strength and light weight designs. Fusion welding plays a vital role in repairing and manufacturing industries like automobile, construction, ship building, and energy sector.

TIG and A-TIG welding experimental investigations and comparison with simulation

Science and Technology of Welding and Joining, 2012
In this part II, the comparison of physical mechanisms between tungsten inert gas (TIG) and active TIG (A-TIG) welding is shown. The plasma was monitored by a high speed camera to present the arc constriction phenomena while passing from TIG to A-TIG.

TIG and A-TIG welding experimental investigations and comparison to simulation

Science and Technology of Welding and Joining, 2012
In the present work, the chemical mechanism was shown for tungsten inert gas (TIG) and active TIG (A-TIG) welding. The results obtained with a two-dimensional axial symmetric model developed to simulate the flow behaviour in the meting pool on a stainless steel disc (304L) melted by a stationary heat source were presented to show the influence of ...

Special issue of TiG

Trends in Genetics, 2003
Welcome to this special issue of Trends in Genetics with the theme of ‘Science on the Pacific Rim’. Traditionally, special issues of Trends Journals feature a particular topic, but we felt that there were good reasons to have an issue based on geography.

TIGS

ACM SIGGRAPH Computer Graphics, 1978
TIGS is a general purpose subroutine package providing display generation and interaction capability for a general class of graphics terminals. The package is computer, operating system, and display device independent. Primary design objectives were transportability, maintainability, and ease of use.

Comparison of thermal efficiency between A-TIG and conventional TIG welding

Welding International, 2016
AbstractThe A-TIG process (TIG welding with active flux) consists in depositing a thin layer of flux on the workpiece surface just before welding. The layer deposition can be done by brushing or spraying over the surface, and welding is performed after it dries out.
