From Nominalisation to Passive in Old Tibetan: Reconstructing Grammatical Meaning in an Extinct Language1

open access: yesTransactions of the Philological Society, EarlyView.
Abstract Based on an analysis of the Old Literary Tibetan corpus—a corpus of the oldest documented Tibetic language—the present study provides evidence that literary Tibetan v3 verb stems (commonly termed ‘future’) initially encoded passive voice. New arguments put forward in this article range from Trans‐Himalayan nominal morphology to early Tibetan ...

Suppression mechanism of weld appearance defects in tandem TIG welding by numerical modeling

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2021
In high-speed tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding, the premature solidification of liquid metal in low-temperature zone of molten pool results in the formation of weld appearance defects (WADs) such as undercut and humping weld.

Determinants of case outcomes in Rwanda's postgenocide gacaca courts

open access: yesCriminology, EarlyView.
Abstract Transitional justice trials have become a central mechanism for addressing mass violence and human rights violations, yet little is known about the determinants of case outcomes within these courts—particularly in domestic contexts. This study examines Rwanda's gacaca courts, a localized transitional justice system that tried people suspected ...

Burden and Correlates of Child Undernutrition Based on the Composite Index of Anthropometric Failure (CIAF) in Bangladesh: Evidence From the 2019 Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey

open access: yesMaternal &Child Nutrition, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite economic growth and poverty reduction, child undernutrition is still widespread in Bangladesh. This study aimed to evaluate both the burden and correlates of undernutrition among children under five in Bangladesh using the Composite Index of Anthropometric Failure (CIAF).

Influence of an Argon/Silane Atmosphere on the Temperature of a Thermal Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 12, 17 June 2026.
The influence of a silane‐doped argon atmosphere on the chemical composition and temperature of a thermal nontransferring argon plasma is investigated using optical emission spectroscopy. As a result of the high amount of free electrons resulting from the stepwise ionization and dissociation of the silane molecule, even a silane addition of 0.01 vol ...

Superior tensile and fatigue properties of Incoloy 901 repair welds produced by direct energy deposition

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2022
A comparative study of the microstructure and mechanical properties (tensile and high-cycle-fatigue) of Incoloy 901 repair welds produced via direct-energy-deposition (DED) and conventional tungsten-inert-gas (TIG) welding was conducted.

Effect of Postweld Heat Treatment on Laser‐Welded Duplex Stainless Steel: Crystallographic Patterns and Fatigue Behavior

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 6, Page 3267-3281, June 2026.
Laser welding of duplex stainless steel disrupts phase balance, promotes nitride precipitation, and reduces fatigue resistance. Postweld heat treatment restores austenite and dissolves nitrides, but the resulting crystallography and phase morphology still impair fatigue performance.

Diagnosing Systemic Mastocytosis: State of the Art

open access: yesInternational Journal of Laboratory Hematology, Volume 48, Issue 3, Page 551-560, June 2026.
ABSTRACT With the advent of effective multikinase and selective tyrosine kinase inhibitors in systemic mastocytosis, diagnosing this rare disease has been critical to improving patient morbidity and mortality. This state‐of‐the‐art review interprets the international diagnostic criteria, including differences between the WHO 5th edition classification ...

Optimization of CBCT‐guided imaging schedules for left‐sided postmastectomy radiotherapy using VMAT: A dosimetric, radiobiological, and cost analysis

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Purpose This study aimed to determine an appropriate frequency of image‐guided (IG) schedules for left‐sided postmastectomy radiotherapy by comprehensively evaluating dosimetric, radiobiological, imaging dose, and imaging‐related cost outcomes. Methods A retrospective analysis of 20 patients treated with volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT)

Effect of TIG and FSW Welding Processes on Mechanical Properties of Al-4.2Mg-0.6Mn-0.4Sc-0.1Zr Alloy

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering, 2021
In this study, friction stir welding (FSW) and Tungsten gas welding (TIG) processes were used to weld 5 mm thick Al-4.2Mg-0.6Mn-0.4Sc-0.1Zr alloy plates. The FSwelds and TIG welds were tested for mechanical properties (hardness, ultimate tensile strength,
