Bimetallic (NiFe) and Trimetallic (NiFeCr) Nanoalloys from Metal Oxides Using a Microwave Hydrogen Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Bimetallic (NiFe) and trimetallic (NiFeCr) nanoalloys (NAs) are synthesized using corresponding oxide mixtures using microwave hydrogen plasma within a few milliseconds. The process simultaneously 1) reduces metal oxides to metals; 2) downsizes the particles from micrometers to nanometers; and 3) blends the metals to form NAs.

Gas-Water Flow Behavior in Water-Bearing Tight Gas Reservoirs

open access: yesGeofluids, 2017
Some tight sandstone gas reservoirs contain mobile water, and the mobile water generally has a significant impact on the gas flowing in tight pores. The flow behavior of gas and water in tight pores is different than in conventional formations, yet there

NMR logging activation sets selection and fluid relaxation characteristics analysis of tight gas reservoirs: A case study from the Sichuan Basin

open access: yesNatural Gas Industry B, 2018
With complex lithology and reservoir types, as well as high concealment and heterogeneity, tight reservoirs in the Sichuan Basin involve significant uncertainties in gas–water relationship.

Influence of Sample Preparation and Processing Procedures on the Thermal Diffusivity of MgO‐C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The thermal diffusivity of MgO‐C refractories is highly sensitive to sample preparation and processing procedures. In this article, the effects of coking sequence, machining conditions, structural inhomogeneity, and graphite coating application on measurements using laser flash apparatus are systematically investigated.

Method of laminating structural members [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
A laminate is obtained by providing a lightweight core material, such as a honeycombed plastic or metal, within the cavity defined by an annular mold cavity frame.

Bose-Einstein condensation in quasi2D trapped gases

open access: yes, 1999
We discuss BEC in (quasi)2D trapped gases and find that well below the transition temperature $T_c$ the equilibrium state is a true condensate, whereas at intermediate temperatures ...

Thermoelectric Modules Incorporating MgAgSb and Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 Synthesized Using a Melting Method

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable synthesis method for a thermoelectric material of MgAgSb is established. A thermoelectric power module of MgAgSb/Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 is fabricated, showing the conversion efficiency of 7.4% at ΔT = 315 K. The performance is comparable to conventional Bi2Te3 modules when they are operated with an air‐cooled heat exchanger.
