Advances in Tight Gas Completions - Noel Tight Gas Project
Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, 2008Abstract The Noel project has successfully employed unconventional fracing approaches and open hole horizontal wells to begin development of the Cadomin Formation in the Noel field in Canada. The Cadomin is a very difficult reservoir to exploit given that the reservoir is under pressured, has very low permeability and porosity.

North Oman Tight Gas Development
SPE Unconventional Gas Conference and Exhibition, 2013Abstract Production from conventional non-associated gas fields operated by PDO in North Oman has largely met demand from Oman’s domestic and LNG export requirements to-date. However, with domestic demand growing at around 5% per year and with continuing significant LNG sales contracts to be met, exploration has been stepped up in recent

Reserve Analysis for Tight Gas
SPE Eastern Regional Meeting, 2002Abstract Tight gas reservoirs present unique challenges to the reservoir engineer. Applying classical reservoir engineering techniques to these reservoirs is problematic due to the length of time required to reach pseudo-steady state flow and/or establish a constant drainage area.

Appraising a Tight Gas Discovery
EAGE workshop on Developments in Land Seismic Acquisition for Exploration, 2010This paper presents a tight gas accumulation which was discovered in 2009 following the drilling of a vertical pilot hole and subsequent highly deviated hole. Both holes were successfully drilled using the under-balance drilling (UBD) technology which enabled gas flow to be recorded at surface while drilling the reservoir interval.

Hermetic Gas‐tight Ceramic Microreactors
Chemical Engineering & Technology, 2005AbstractNew kinds of hermetic gas‐tight ceramic microreactors for high temperatures, harsh environments, and high pressures are presented. Besides the special manufacturing procedure and design possibilities, application possibilities are also outlined. The results are complemented with examples of simulation of temperature distribution, measurement of

Tight Gas Reservoir Simulation
2013Analytical and numerical simulation studies are performed to have a qualitative understanding of damage mechanisms associated with production from non-fractured and hydraulically fractured tight gas reservoirs; and evaluate its potential impact on well productivity.
