Naturally fractured tight gas reservoir detection optimization [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In March, work continued on characterizing probabilities for determining natural fracturing associated with the GGRB for the Upper Cretaceous tight gas plays. Structural complexity, based on potential field data and remote sensing data was completed. A resource estimate for the Frontier and Mesa Verde play was also completed.

Proposed Workflow for Tight Gas Reservoirs

open access: yesProceedings, 2011
Tight and ultra tight gas reservoirs are recognised as providing significant opportunities for oil companies worldwide to add producible reserves to their portfolios. However, it is commonly perceived that wells in such reservoirs may suffer from low productivity and possibly unstable rates below the economic threshold.

Tight Sandstone Gas Reservoir Types and Formation Mechanisms in the Second Member of the Xujiahe Formation in the Anyue Area, Sichuan Basin

open access: yesEnergies
With the advancement of oil and gas exploration and development, tight sandstone gas has become a major current exploration field. However, the effective development of tight sandstone gas faces significant challenges due to the strong heterogeneity of ...

Effect of fracture fluid flowback on shale microfractures using CT scanning

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering
The field data of shale fracturing demonstrate that the flowback performance of fracturing fluid is different from that of conventional reservoirs, where the flowback rate of shale fracturing fluid is lower than that of conventional reservoirs.

Research on Inter-Fracture Gas Flooding for Horizontal Wells in Changqing Yuan 284 Tight Oil Reservoir

open access: yesEnergies
In tight reservoir development, traditional enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods are incapable of effectively improving oil recovery in tight reservoirs.

Diagenetic alterations and deep high-quality reservoirs within deltaic distributary channel facies: a case study from the Permian Shihezi formation in the Hongde area, southwestern Ordos basin, China

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
Deep tight gas reservoirs are considered important hydrocarbon exploration targets. High-quality reservoir prediction is critical for successfully exploring and developing deeply buried tight sandstone gas.
