Analyzing Production Data From Tight Oil Wells
Journal of Canadian Petroleum Technology, 2010Summary Performance prediction of wells producing from tight (microdarcy) formations is a daunting task. Complexities of geology (the presence/absence of naturally occurring fractures and contribution from different lithological layers), completion and fracture geometry complexities (multiple transverse or longitudinal fractures in long ...

Oil Sands, Heavy Oil, Tight Oil/Gas, BCGAs and CBM
2021Unconventional reservoirs differ from conventional hydrocarbon reservoirs because of their poor matrix porosity and permeability and are characteristically difficult to produce hydrocarbon. Unconventional reservoirs occurring worldwide are of various types some of which namely the oil sands, heavy oil, tight oil and gas, high pressured basin centred ...

Tight Oil Development in RN-Yuganskneftegas
SPE Russian Petroleum Technology Conference, 2019Abstract This paper presents a way of tight oil development using horizontal wells with hydraulic fracturing and modified field development patterns. In order to minimize risks of drilling and optimize development decisions we apply systematic complex approach including well data analysis (incl.

Future Trends for Tight Oil Exploitation
SPE North Africa Technical Conference and Exhibition, 2015Abstract In this paper, production characteristics of tight oil reservoirs are summarized and analyzed, the investigated reservoirs include Cardium sandstone reservoir and Pekisko limestone reservoir. The phenomenon that gas and oil or water and oil are co-produced at an early stage of exploitation has been observed.

Brittleness characteristics of tight oil siltstones
Applied Geophysics, 2018Rock brittleness directly affects reservoir fracturing and its evaluation is essential for establishing fracturing conditions prior to reservoir reforming. Dynamic and static brittleness data were collected from siltstones of the Qingshankou Formation in Songliao Basin. The brittle–plastic transition was investigated based on the stress–strain relation.

U.S. Tight Oil Production Tendency Analysis
2020Tight oil production has gradually grown into the main driving force of crude oil production growth in the U.S. as well as an important contributor to the global crude oil supply. Agencies tend to forecast U.S. tight oil production tendency based on different resource and technology conditions.
