Petrologic evidence for earliest Miocene tectonic mobility on eastern Taranaki Basin margin [PDF]
At Gibsons Beach on the west coast of central North Island, the earliest Miocene (Waitakian) Otorohanga Limestone, the top-most formation in the Te Kuiti Group, is unconformably overlain on an undulating, locally channelised erosion surface by the Early ...

Spatially resolved 23Na magnetic resonance dispersion measurement in porous media
Quantitative 23Na MRI was employed to analyze dispersion in realistic core plug samples and was compared with the conventional breakthrough curve. 23Na MRI provided a more effective aassessment of core plug heterogeneity than the conventional method. Abstract Tracer tests are widely used in the petroleum industry to assess reservoir core plugs, relying

Structural heterogeneity and permeability in faulted eolian sandstone: Implications for subsurface modeling of faults [PDF]
We determined the structure and permeability variations of a 4 km-long normal fault by integrating surface mapping with data from five boreholes drilled through the fault (borehole to tens of meters scale).

Investigation of Water-Sensitivity Damage for Tight Low-Permeability Sandstone Reservoirs [PDF]
Tight sandstone reservoir has been characterized by low permeability and porosity, developed micro-nanopore throats, strong capillary forces, and high content of clay minerals. It is vulnerable to damage caused by water sensitivity during the processes of reservoir development, which significantly impedes the hydrocarbon production.

Resonance‐induced restoration of rock permeability degraded by heavy components of crude oil
Resonance‐induced changes occur in filtration properties of sedimentary rocks in crude paraffin oil flow under acoustic vibrations. Experimental data on (a) pressure drop; (b) permeability; (c) pressure at the rock inlet; and (d) pressure at the rock outlet are presented.

Response laws of rock electrical property and saturation evaluation method of tight sandstone
To solve the problem that the law of rock electrical response under low and medium water saturation in tight sandstone reservoirs is not clear, an experimental method of high-speed centrifugal displacement rock electricity and nuclear magnetic resonance ...
