Influence of laser amplitude and beam waist radius on attosecond pulse trains in a cross-collision tightly focused circularly polarized field

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
Radiation from nonlinear Thomson scattering (RNTS) has emerged as an important mechanism for generating highly directional and broadband attosecond emission. However, the influence of laser-field structure on electron dynamics and the resulting radiation

Ionizable Lipid‐Dependent Optimization of Steroid Lipid Nanoparticles With Tunable Immunomodulatory Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A novel engineering strategy that establishes material design principles for incorporating anti‐inflammatory steroids into lipid nanoparticles to reduce LNP‐induced inflammation while retaining mRNA delivery. Results are validated in vitro and in three animal models of inflammation and autoimmunity in vivo.

Highly polarized energetic electrons via intense laser-irradiated tailored targets

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
A method for the generation of ultrarelativistic electron beams with high spin polarization is put forward, where a tightly focused linearly polarized ultraintense laser pulse interacts with a nonprepolarized transverse-size-tailored solid target.

Efficient generation of a 100 nC electron beam via self-mode transition from LWFA to PWFA

open access: yesHigh Power Laser Science and Engineering
Laser-driven plasma wakefield acceleration (LWFA) offers exceptionally high acceleration gradients and can produce high-brightness electron beams. However, the laser-to-electron energy conversion efficiency typically remains limited to a few percent ...

Spatial Control of Light‐Responsive Proteins and Optogenetics Within Hydrogels via Volumetric Bioprinting

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Spatiotemporal control over cell behavior within bioprinted constructs remains a key challenge in biofabrication. Volumetric bioprinting using multi‐wavelength light sources permits to activate light‐sensitive intracellular proteins as well as optogenetic gene and protein expression circuits in bioprinted cells, in addition to enabling fast printing of

Elastomeric 3D‐Printed Microenvironments Enable Nanonewton Force Measurements in Healthy and Diseased Human Pluripotent Stem Cell‐Derived Neuroepithelial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We present elastomeric three‐dimensional (3D) microstructures fabricated via two‐photon polymerization (2PP) and post‐processed through wet etching, for quantifying nanonewton (nN)‐scale forces applied by healthy and diseased neural cells. The mechanically characterized free‐standing beam architectures enable measurement of traction forces of ...
