The antioxidant activity of the water extract of Tilia argentea Desf ex DC was determined by the thiocyanate method. The antioxidant activity of the water extract increased with the increasing amount of lyophilized extract (50-400 microg) added into the linoleic acid emulsion.

Main flavonoids of Tilia argentea DESF. ex DC. leaves

Kaempferol 3,7-O-alpha-L-dirhamnoside (1) and quercetin 3.7-O-alpha-L-dirhamnoside (H) were isolated from the leaves of Tilia argentea (Tiliaceae). The structure elucidation of the isolated compounds was performed by spectroscopic techniques (H-1-NMR, C-13-NMR, HMBC, CHSHF, DEPT and High Resolution FAB-MS).
