The aesthetic sublime of megaproject structures: A framework and a research agenda

open access: yesEuropean Management Review, EarlyView.
Abstract The physical structures of megaprojects—such as mega‐canals, metros, railway lines, bridges, tunnels, and iconic opera houses—hold a profound capacity to generate aesthetic experiences with enduring societal impact. Yet, research on megaprojects has predominantly focused on functionality and economic rationale with aesthetics being pushed to ...

Kinematics analysis of prefabricated tile paving parallel robot

open access: yesJournal of Hebei University of Science and Technology
Aiming at the requirement of automatic tile paving of prefabricated components in prefabricated buildings, a new robot configuration based on parallel mechanism for tile grabbing and compacting was proposed. Firstly, the designed paving robot consisting of three branches was designed, and each of which contained two different types of actuators ...

Axial muscle‐fibre orientations in larval zebrafish

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 246, Issue 4, Page 517-533, April 2025.
In 4 days post‐fertilization zebrafish larvae, the fast axial muscle fibres follow helical trajectories that taper towards the tail. Adjacent muscle fibres form substantial angles relative to each other to accommodate this pattern. Using a novel semi‐automatic method, we quantified 3D fibre angles over the whole muscle volume.

Optimal trajectory planning for robotized tiling of floors

open access: yes, 2013
This thesis describes the strategy of a new approach for automated tilesetting currently under development by nLink AS in Sogndal. The main focus of the thesis is the development of an appropriate strategy for path planning for this robotic system. A mathematical model of a 4-wheel skid-steering mobile platform with a model-based nonlinear controller ...

Palaces for a New Spain Nobility: Between Creole Identity and Academicism

open access: yesSociology Lens, Volume 38, Issue 1, Page 75-86, March 2025.
ABSTRACT Mexico City and Havana had a significant number of noble palaces during the eighteenth century. Until now, the dearth of historical documentation on their construction has hampered any approximation, requiring other methodologies. Here, it is intended to establish how a new visual code was defined, consistent both with their local style and ...
