Expandable Nanocomposite Shape‐Memory Hemostat for the Treatment of Noncompressible Hemorrhage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nanocomposite‐coated shape memory foam rapidly expands, accelerates clotting, and reduces blood loss in vivo. Its fast volumetric expansion and strong procoagulant activity make it a promising hemostat for treating deep, noncompressible hemorrhage.

Engineered GM1 Intersects Between Mitochondrial and Synaptic Pathways to Ameliorate ALS Pathology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease driven by genetic and molecular disruptions affecting energy balance, protein homeostasis, and stress responses in nerve cells. Studies using human and rodent models identified convergent defects in mitochondria and synaptic function.

Detection Method of Effective Tillering of Rice in Field Based on Lightweight Ghost-YOLOv8 and Smart Phone

open access: yes智慧农业
[Objective]The number of effective tillers per plant is one of the important agronomic traits affecting rice yield. In order to solve the problems of high cost and low accuracy of effective tiller detection caused by dense tillers, mutual occlusion and ...

Genetic variability and association studies in F2 generation of rice (Oryza sativa L.)

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2019
The F2 segregating generation of two crosses viz., CO 52 × CR Dhan 310 and RNR 15048 × CB 13543 were evaluated for variability parameters, character association and path coefficient analysis.

Helix Alignment, Chevrons, and Edge Dislocations in Twist‐Bend Ferroelectric Nematics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The recently discovered twist‐bend ferroelectric nematic (NTBF) is the new member of the multiferroic family, representing a fluid with an oblique helicoidal (heliconical) periodic structure of spontaneous electric polarization. The work presents a thorough exploration of the material properties of this phase, how the periodic modulation of ...

Studies on tillering in paddy rice. : 1. Increae system of tillers.

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Crop Science, 1951
The authors made an experimental study on tillering in paddy rice under the cultural conditions of direct sowing and transplanting. With variety Rikuu 132, cultures by both of these methods were practiced in 1947. Sowings were done on May 5. Transplantings were made on June 9 in one plot and on June 19 in another.

Natural Negative Feedback Loops Confer Indica‐Japonica Differentiation for Grain Size Homeostasis in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals the genetic and molecular mechanisms controlling grain size homeostasis through fine‐tuning OsGRX8 self‐expression by two natural negative feedback loops functioning in redox‐dependent or ‐independent manners and identifies two self‐regulatory haplotypes (SRHs) for the subspecies differentiation in rice.

Autism and mild epilepsy associated with a de novo missense pathogenic variant in the GTPase effector domain of DNM1

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part C: Seminars in Medical Genetics, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Dynamin 1 is a GTPase protein involved in synaptic vesicle fission, which facilitates the exocytosis of neurotransmitters necessary for normal signaling. Pathogenic variants in the DNM1 gene are associated with intractable epilepsy, often manifested as infantile spasms at onset, developmental delay, and a movement disorder, and are located in ...

Targeting Peptostreptococcus anaerobius with an Iron‐Based Nanozyme Reverses Ferroptosis Resistance and Enhances Antitumor Immunity in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An iron‐based nanozyme selectively eliminates intratumoral P. anaerobius while catalytically generating ROS to induce ferroptosis, synergistically suppressing colorectal cancer growth and activating anti‐tumor immunity through immunogenic cell death. ABSTRACT The intratumoral microbiota is a critical determinant of therapeutic outcomes in colorectal ...

Net blotch severity is best assessed at early grain filling with respect to its effect on grain weight of spring barley [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Appropriate disease assessment methods and parameters reflecting whole-season disease severity levels in field plots remain important issues in studies related to plant disease epidemiology, disease resistance of crop cultivars, and disease-induced yield
