Pattern of Progression of Oral Potentially Malignant Disorders From Real‐World Data: A 24‐Year Study

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Oral potentially malignant disorder (OPMD) prognostication is limited by uncertainty of which lesions will progress and the aggressiveness of lesion progression. We defined patterns and kinetics of progression in a large cohort of OPMD subjected to serial clinical and histologic examinations. Methods This 24‐year study evaluated the

“Thinking Out Loud” and “Pivoting on the Fly”—An Empirical Review and Critical Incident Study of How Physicians Engage in Incidental Learning Amidst Complexity

open access: yesHuman Resource Development Quarterly, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study explores incidental learning among physicians navigating uncertainty during the COVID‐19 pandemic. Using a constructivist research design, we conducted a literature review of 13 empirical studies on incidental learning in complexity and analyzed critical incident interviews with 12 emergency medicine and intensive care physicians ...

The effect of tiller removal and tiller defoliation on competition between the main shoot and tillers of spring barley

Annals of Applied Biology, 1988
SUMMARYIn glasshouse and field experiments the source‐sink relations of the main shoot of plants of spring barley were modified by tiller removal and tiller defoliation. Decreasing competition by tiller removal promoted the growth of the residual main shoot and its component parts, and the earlier tillers were removed the greater was the effect.

Effect of management factors on tiller dynamics in tall fescue: Tiller initiation

African Journal of Range & Forage Science, 1996
The effect of plant density (row spacing/seeding rate), nitrogen (N) fertilization, cultivar choice and close-down date on tiller initiation in tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea Schreb.), managed for seed production, was examined over two years. In the first season, tiller studies were conducted on eight individual plants in each treatment.
