Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Comparative Analysis of Power Output, Fill Factor, and Efficiency at Fixed and Variable Tilt Angles for Polycrystalline and Monocrystalline Photovoltaic Panels—The Case of Sukkur IBA University

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Photovoltaic technology mainly uses beam, diffused, and reflected solar radiation to produce power. To increase the photovoltaic power output, the surface of the solar panel must be at the optimal tilt angle.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Inter-hemispheric asymmetry of dependence of the cusp location on dipole tilt during northward IMF conditions [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2012
A data set of the Cluster cusp crossings over a 5-year period is studied for the interhemispheric comparison of the dipole tilt angle effect on the latitude of the mid-altitude cusp.

Influence of Surface Tilt Angle on a Chromatic Confocal Probe with a Femtosecond Laser

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
This paper presents an intentional investigation of the effect of the object tilt angle on the tracking local minimum method (TL method), which is the one for detecting the measurement target position of the object optical axis, in a chromatic confocal ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Optimization of Tilt Angle of a PV System to Get Maximum Generated Power: a Case Study

open access: yesKurdistan Journal of Applied Research, 2020
The amount of solar irradiance falls onto photovoltaic (PV) panels depends highly on the tilt angle between the panels and the horizontal plane. Therefore, this angle must be chosen carefully so that the panels can absorb the largest possible amount of ...

Patellar tilt angle.

open access: yes, 2018
(A) The preoperative patellar tilt angle is defined as the angle between the equatorial line of the patella and the line connecting the anterior limits of the femoral condyles in the Merchant view.
