Suggestion for Camera Location in Monocular Markerless 3D Motion Capture System: Focused on Accuracy Comparison With Marker-Based System for Upper Limb Joints

open access: yesIEEE Access
A markerless motion capture system that analyzes human movements without markers has emerged. However, most studies use 2D coordinates to track basic movements from fixed viewpoints, with limited research on joint movement accuracy based on camera angles.

A Robust Dual‐mode Self‐Monitoring Battery Thermal Management System via Bilayer Structural Design

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An adaptive dual‐mode material capable of both evaporative cooling and photothermal preheating is developed. It achieves a cooling efficiency of 53.9%, surpassing existing evaporative cooling counterparts, and a self‐monitoring capability, making it ideal for electric vehicles, portable electronics, and grid‐scale energy storage.

Calcium Imparts Advanced Functionalities to Silk Hydrogels for Biofabrication and Biomedical Innovation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The addition of calcium ions to silk fibroin enhances the hydrogel properties and, when combined with visible light crosslinking, enables compatibility with advanced light‐based fabrication techniques. Calcium ions extend the shelf‐life of silk and facilitate the fabrication of multizonal, multilayered constructs for advanced stimuli‐responsive ...

Selective Laser Sintering 3D Printing of Drug‐Loaded Intravitreal Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Selective laser sintering enables the fabrication of biodegradable and biocompatible intravitreal implants with tunable microstructures for sustained drug delivery. By modulating laser scanning speed, the polymer matrix architecture is engineered to control the release kinetics of dexamethasone and riboflavin over several months. This approach offers a

Autonomous Mobile Robot That Can Read

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2004
The ability to read would surely contribute to increased autonomy of mobile robots operating in the real world. The process seems fairly simple: the robot must be capable of acquiring an image of a message to read, extract the characters, and recognize ...

Quasi‐Periodic Surface Functionalization by Ultra‐Short Pulsed Laser Processing: Unlocking Superior Heat Transfer in Vapor Chambers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ultra‐short pulsed laser processing (ULSP) enables scalable, open‐air fabrication of self‐organized, quasi‐periodic micro/nanostructures on copper using 100 µm laser beams, orders of magnitude larger than the resulting surface features. Integrated into ultra‐thin, wick‐free vapor chambers, these laser‐functionalized surfaces dramatically enhance ...
