Design of Moving Object Tracking System Based on Background Subtraction Algorithm and CAMShift Algorithm and Its Implementatio

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2010
In order to solve problem of temporary loss for tracked moving object when pan-tilt camera rotated, the paper proposed a design scheme of moving object tracking system based on background subtraction algorithm and CAMShift algorithm.

Characterization of Nitinol Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Mechanical Metamaterial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Online Predictive Visual Servo Control for Constrained Target Tracking of Fixed-Wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

open access: yesDrones
This paper proposes an online predictive control method for fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with a pan-tilt camera in target tracking. It aims to achieve long-term tracking while concurrently maintaining the target near the image center ...

3D Scanning System for Automatic High-Resolution Plant Phenotyping

open access: yes, 2016
Thin leaves, fine stems, self-occlusion, non-rigid and slowly changing structures make plants difficult for three-dimensional (3D) scanning and reconstruction -- two critical steps in automated visual phenotyping.

EBSD Study of Creep‐Induced Lattice Misorientation in MgO‐Particle‐Reinforced Austenitic Steel Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

Reduction of Oxide Inclusions During the High‐Frequency Welding of Steel via a Nonthermal Ar/H2 Plasma Jet

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...

How Gamma Camera’s Head-Tilts Affect Image Quality of a Nuclear Scintigram?

open access: yesFrontiers in Biomedical Technologies, 2014
Purpose: Mechanical calibration of camera plays an important role in nuclear imaging to acquire a more qualified and quantized scintigram. The objective of this work was to quantitatively evaluate planar resolution and sensitivity of a tilted Anger ...
