Towards High-order Methods for Rotorcraft Applications [PDF]
This work presents CFD results obtained with an efficient, high-order, finite-volume scheme. The formulation is based on the variable extrapolation MUSCL-scheme, and high-order spatial accuracy is achieved using correction terms obtained through ...

Hydrogen‐powered aviation offers a transformative pathway to zero‐emission flight by eliminating in‐flight CO2 emissions. Key considerations include propulsion systems (fuel cells and hydrogen combustion), cryogenic storage and insulation challenges, infrastructure and cost barriers, and supply‐chain constraints.

A mathematical model of a tilt-wing aircraft for piloted simulation [PDF]
A mathematical model of a tilt-wing aircraft that was used in a piloted, six-degree-of-freedom flight simulation application is described. Two types of control systems developed for the math model are discussed: a conventional, programmed-flap wing-tilt ...

Herein, a patient‐mounted neuro optical coherence tomography system that integrates a 5 degrees‐of‐freedom skull‐mounted robot (Skullbot) with a 0.6 mm neuroendoscope for targeted, minimally invasive deep brain imaging, is developed. The system offers high‐resolution imaging with precise deployment, demonstrated through successful tumor imaging in a ...

Effect of high lift flap systems on the conceptual design of a 1985 short-haul commercial STOL tilt rotor transport [PDF]
The performances of a derivative concept of a 1985 STOL tilt rotor transport, and of a second concept having a complex mechanical flap system similar to a short field B737 aircraft were compared for a 370 kilometer (200 nautical mile) short haul mission.

A Robotic Urinary Bladder Enabling Volume Monitoring and Assisted Micturition
An implantable robotic bladder is presented that can store urine in an origami‐designed enclosure. An inductance sensing principle can monitor and transfer the urine volume in real‐time. It can actively expand based on the amount of urine collected from kidneys and apply on‐demand mechanical compression to assist urination.
