The individual and joint influence of climate variability modes and surface weather on Murray River streamflow from 1895 to 2019 was investigated using a Bayesian network approach. The influence of the Indian Ocean Dipole, subtropical ridge intensity, zonal mean sea level pressure gradient and antecedent flow conditions was highlighted.
