Identification of circulating T‐cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain 4 as a potential biomarker for coronary heart disease

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 4, Issue 4, August 2023., 2023
Efferocytosis is inextricably linked to atherosclerosis. TIMD4, a membrane protein mediating efferocytosis, can be cleaved into sTIMD4 by ADAM17. Here, we first reported that sTIMD4 in serum may serve as a biomarker for coronary heart disease. In vitro experiments demonstrated that sTIMD4 formation may be facilitated by activation of p38 mitogen ...

Targeting PI3Kγ/AKT Pathway Remodels LC3‐Associated Phagocytosis Induced Immunosuppression After Radiofrequency Ablation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 9, Issue 7, March 4, 2022., 2022
In hepatocellular carcinoma treated by insufficient radiofrequency ablation, LC3‐associated phagocytosis (LAP) is induced in macrophages, where the macrophages engulf dying tumor cells. Cholesterol efflux during LAP enhances IL‐4 mediated programming and activates the PI3Kγ/AKT pathway.

Kidney Injury Molecule‐1 and Cardiovascular Diseases: From Basic Science to Clinical Practice

open access: yesBioMed Research International, Volume 2015, Issue 1, 2015., 2015
Despite the recent findings concerning pathogenesis and novel therapeutic strategies, cardiovascular disease (CVD) still stays the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with renal dysfunction, especially acute kidney injury (AKI). Early detection of patients with impaired renal function with cardiovascular risk may help ensure more ...

Multi-scale cluster lens mass mapping I. Strong Lensing modelling

open access: yes, 2009
We propose a novel technique to refine the modelling of galaxy clusters mass distribution using gravitational lensing. The idea is to combine the strengths of both "parametric" and "non-parametric" methods to improve the quality of the fit.

Crossover from time-correlated single-electron tunneling to that of Cooper pairs

open access: yes, 2007
We have studied charge transport in a one-dimensional chain of small Josephson junctions using a single-electron transistor. We observe a crossover from time-correlated tunneling of single electrons to that of Cooper pairs as a function of both magnetic ...

Binding characteristics of the doxepin E/Z‐isomers to the histamine H1 receptor revealed by receptor‐bound ligand analysis and molecular dynamics study

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Recognition, Volume 37, Issue 5, September 2024.
Abstract Doxepin is an antihistamine and tricyclic antidepressant that binds to the histamine H1 receptor (H1R) with high affinity. Doxepin is an 85:15 mixture of the E‐ and Z‐isomers. The Z‐isomer is well known to be more effective than the E‐isomer, whereas based on the crystal structure of the H1R/doxepin complex, the hydroxyl group of Thr1123.37 is
