Near‐Field Phonon Nanoscopy and Imaging of Structural Variants in Mixed Phase BiFeO3

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nano‐Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scattering scanning near‐field optical microscopy imaging reveal the phonon response of nanoscale phase variants in mixed‐phase BiFeO3 (BFO). Direct mid‐infrared imaging of associated distinct vibrational signatures is used as a non‐invasive optical detection method for electrical switching of ...

Exploring Electronic States and Ultrafast Electron Dynamics in AlInP Window Layers: The Role of Surface Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the surface characteristics of AlInP (001), crucial for advanced solar cells and photoelectrochemical devices. Using theoretical modeling and experiments, it identifies how phosphorus‐rich and indium‐rich surfaces create mid‐gap states that pin the Fermi level and influence ultrafast electron dynamics.

A Possible Resolution of the Tolman Paradox as a Quantum Superposition [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
This is an attempt to find a hidden virtue in Tolman's paradox by showing that it can give rise to quantum superposition. We consider tachyon exchange between two particles and show that it can generate superposition of eigenstates characterizing each particle, as well as the entangled state of the particle pair.

The Bound of Entanglement of Superpositions with More Than Two Components [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A bipartite quantum state (for two systems in any dimensions) can be decomposed as a superposition of many components. For a superposition of more than two components we prove that there is a bound of the entanglement of the superposition state which can be expressed according to entanglements of its component states.

Self‐organized Criticality in Neuromorphic Nanowire Networks With Tunable and Local Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Memristive nanowire networks (NWNs) are shown to be electrically tunable to a critical state where specific local dynamics evaluated by multiterminal characterization are exploited as feature selection in nonlinear transformation (NLT) tasks.

Superposition principle for qubit states in spin-projection mean representation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
The superposition principle of two qubit states is formulated as nonlinear addition rule of mean spinprojection onto three perpendicular directions. The explicit expression for the mean value determining the superposition state in term of the two initial pure states of the qubit is obtained.

Effect of time and thermo-mechanical couplings on polymers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Analysis of the thermo-mechanical behaviour of polymers has been and still is the subject of many rheological studies both experimentally and theoretically.

Sono‐Piezo‐Photosynthesis of Ethylene and Acetylene from Bioethanol under Ambient Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel sono‐piezo‐photocatalytic strategy enables the conversion of bioethanol to ethylene (C2H4) and acetylene (C2H2) under ambient conditions, addressing the limitations of conventional methods that are high‐temperature and energy‐intensive. By using an advanced graphene oxide/sodium bismuth titanate heterostructure catalyst, this work achieved ...

Entanglement of subspaces in terms of entanglement of superpositions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We investigate upper and lower bounds on the entropy of entanglement of a superposition of bipartite states as a function of the individual states in the superposition. In particular, we extend the results in [G. Gour, arxiv.org:0704.1521 (2007)] to superpositions of several states rather than just two.
