Near-Optimum Iterative Multiuser Detection in Time-Frequency-Domain Spread Multicarrier DS-CDMA Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this contribution we propose and study a novel iterative time-frequency-domain (TF-domain) multiuser detector (MUD) for the multicarrier direct-sequence code-division multiple-access system employing both T-domain and F-domain spreading, which, for ...

PSR J1947−1120: A New Huntsman Millisecond Pulsar Binary

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present the discovery of PSR J1947–1120, a new huntsman millisecond pulsar with a red giant companion star in a 10.3 day orbit. This pulsar was found via optical, X-ray, and radio follow-up of the previously unassociated γ -ray source 4FGL J1947.6 ...

Time Domain Modeling and Analysis of Dynamic Gear Contact Force in a Wind Turbine Gearbox with Respect to Fatigue Assessment

open access: yesEnergies, 2012
The gearbox is one of the most expensive components of the wind turbine system. In order to refine the design and hence increase the long-term reliability, there has been increasing interest in utilizing time domain simulations in the prediction of ...

Analysis of Nonlinear Time-Domain Lubrication Characteristics of the Hydrodynamic Journal Bearing System

open access: yesLubricants, 2023
The nonlinear time-domain lubrication characteristics of the hydrodynamic journal bearing system are studied in this paper. The motion equation of the hydrodynamic journal bearing system is established based on the balance of the relationship among the ...

Raking echoes in the time domain [PDF]

open access: yes2015 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2015
The geometry of room acoustics is such that the reverberant signal can be seen as the same waveform emitted from multiple locations. In analogy with the rake receiver from wireless communications, we propose several beamforming strategies that exploit, rather than suppress, this additional spatio-temporal diversity. Unlike earlier work in the frequency

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

The Role of Probe Attenuation in the Time-Domain Reflectometry Characterization of Dielectrics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The influence of the measurement setup on the estimation of dielectric permittivity spectra from time-domain reflectometry (TDR) responses is investigated.

Probing the potential high-energy messengers of the anticipated T Coronae Borealis outburst

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
T Coronae Borealis (T CrB) is a nearby recurrent nova that is expected to erupt in the near future, offering a unique opportunity to study particle acceleration and high-energy emission from novae in real time. We investigate the production of gamma rays

Detection of quasars in the time domain [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Astronomical Union, 2016
AbstractThe time domain is the emerging forefront of astronomical research with new facilities and instruments providing unprecedented amounts of data on the temporal behavior of astrophysical populations. Dealing with the size and complexity of this requires new techniques and methodologies.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
