Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

A Low-Complexity Time-Domain Method for a Fast and Accurate Measurement of Q-Factor and Resonant Frequency of RF and Microwave Resonators

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
A new time-domain technique for an accurate and fast measurement of the resonant frequency and $Q$ -factor of resonators is presented. In this technique, the phase slope with respect to frequency of a resonator is characterized and used to specify its $

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Faster 3D finite element time domain : Floquet absorbing boundary condition modelling using recursive convolution and vector fitting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A recursive convolution (RC) based on the vector fitting (VF) method and triangular temporal basis functions is employed to compute the Floquet absorbing boundary condition (FABC) formulation in the vector 3D finite element time-domain (FETD) modelling ...

A time domain anti-jamming processing algorithm for GNSS ranging receiver

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2022
Traditional anti-jamming algorithms lead to a deviation of the Global Navigation Satellite System receiver’s ranging value, which has become the main obstacle to the improvement of the accuracy of the high-precision ranging receiver.

Time-domain studies of M31 [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomical Review, 2016
M31, our closest neighboring galaxy, is a stepping stone to studies of stellar evolution, star formation, galaxy evolution, and cosmology. However, due to the difficulties of performing photometry in such crowded fields and the lack of wide cameras to encompass the entire galaxy, there has not been a complete census of the stellar contents of M31.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Time Domain Infinite Impulse Response Filtering Approach for Simulation of Pulse Propagation in Optical Fiber with PMD [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In this thesis, we have developed a full time domain approach for the simulation of pulse propagation in the optical fiber. Same as split-step method in frequency domain, this approach also treats the linear and nonlinear process alternately.

Time-Domain Astrophysics with SuperWASP [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Astronomical Union, 2011
AbstractSuperWASP is the world's leading ground-based survey for transiting exoplanets. Its database now contains over 300 billion data points covering 30 million unique objects from 10 million images obtained over 1700 nights since 2004. In addition to having discovered 70 transiting exoplanets, SuperWASP enables long-baseline, high-cadence studies of

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
