Efficient Groundness Analysis in Prolog [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Boolean functions can be used to express the groundness of, and trace grounding dependencies between, program variables in (constraint) logic programs.

A Systematic Review of Evidence on the Clinical Effectiveness of Surveillance Imaging in Children With Medulloblastoma and Ependymoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Surveillance imaging aims to detect tumour relapse before symptoms develop, but it's unclear whether earlier detection of relapse leads to better outcomes in children and young people (CYP) with medulloblastoma and ependymoma. This systematic review aims to identify relevant literature to determine the efficacy of surveillance magnetic ...

Singular value decomposition-based dynamic response analysis of VSC-MTDC/AC systems for renewable energy integration

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
The dynamic performance of voltage source converter-based multi-terminal high-voltage direct current (VSC-MTDC) grid for large-scale renewable energy integration is becoming a concern.

Scalar Wave Equation Modeling with Time-Space Domain Dispersion-Relation-Based Staggered-Grid Finite-Difference Schemes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The staggered-grid finite-difference (SFD) method is widely used in numerical modeling of wave equations. Conventional SFD stencils for spatial derivatives are usually designed in the space domain.

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

An Inverse Problem for Localization Operators

open access: yes, 2012
A classical result of time-frequency analysis, obtained by I. Daubechies in 1988, states that the eigenfunctions of a time-frequency localization operator with circular localization domain and Gaussian analysis window are the Hermite functions.

Patient‐Level Barriers and Facilitators to Inpatient Physical Therapy in Adolescents and Young Adults With a Hematological Malignancy: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite their increased risk for functional impairment resulting from cancer and its treatments, few adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with a hematological malignancy receive the recommended or therapeutic dose of exercise per week during inpatient hospitalizations.

Reduced‐order electromagnetic transient model based on equivalent flux linkage derivative for induction motors under voltage sag condition

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications
Precise electromagnetic transient simulation of induction motors (IMs) under voltage sag condition is necessary in Electro‐Magnetic Transient Programme. Although traditional fifth‐order model can accurately reflect the electromagnetic transient behaviour

Thermoacoustic instability - a dynamical system and time domain analysis

open access: yes, 2014
This study focuses on the Rijke tube problem, which includes features relevant to the modeling of thermoacoustic coupling in reactive flows: a compact acoustic source, an empirical model for the heat source, and nonlinearities.
