Real-time motion scheduling for a SMALL workcell
Proceedings. 1991 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2002A high-level controller for a SMALL workcell (Sawyer-motor assembly workcell) is presented. It allows multiple independent process to share the robot modules and workspace of a single workcell, by planning and scheduling collision-free paths for module motions in real time.

Real-time motion control on Android platform
The Journal of Supercomputing, 2015Recently, it is increasingly important to provide good real-time performance with the Android platform, since it has been used in industrial devices. The Android platform, however, does not provide a tight real-time guarantee that is required by such industrial devices as robots.

Real time motion-based authentication for smartwatch
2016 IEEE Conference on Communications and Network Security (CNS), 2016Smartwatches become increasingly powerful and popular. These personal devices carry multiple sensors that continuously measure, collect, and analyze various sensitive personal information. Therefore, a strong and user friendly authentication mechanism is much needed to prevent illegitimate accesses to those devices.

Reflections on time, motion and photomechanics
Early Popular Visual Culture, 2013This article is a reflection on my own practice and its connection to changing representations of time and movement within photography. In my work as an artist and photographer, I have endeavoured to develop a particular perspective on the relation between the heritage of photomechanical tools, new technologies, memory and space.

Applied Ergonomics
Motion sickness can occur in environments where new technologies, such as electric vehicles, are applied. Since motion sickness impedes user experience and the adoption of these technologies, accurate prediction is essential. This necessitates precise measurement of motion sickness variations across different environments to improve predictive model ...

Real-time Motion Stereo on SFU Pyramid
Real-Time Imaging, 1995In a manufacturing environment, objects are often presented to inspection systems via conveyor belts. If multiple snapshots of a moving object are taken by a fixed camera, the motion of the belt provides the necessary stereo disparity. Moreover, it also guarantees that the disparity occurs only along epipolar lines.

Real-Time Motion Tracking Using the CELL BE
2009 3rd International Conference on New Technologies, Mobility and Security, 2009Object tracking is an important computer vision problem with many civilian and military applications including surveillance, robotics and intelligent vehicle design. Most of these applications require fast processing due to their real time nature. The Cell processor is a cost-efficient commodity architecture intended for video gaming and provides new ...

An analysis of fitness and time-motion characteristics of handball
The American Journal of Sports Medicine, 1989This study was conducted to determine some fitness parameters of two elite handball players, including the current world champion, and also to determine some of the time-motion characteristics of the game of hand ball. The VO 2 max values of the two players were found to be similar (53.1 and ...
