PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Emphatic Articulation: ‘Klangrede’ as a performative concept in Nikolaus Harnoncourt’s orchestral interpretation

open access: yesStudia Musicologica Norvegica
In a 2004 interpretation of Schubert’s Symphony in B minor, Austrian conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt and the Berlin Philharmonic foreground a certain awareness regarding articulation.

Classical motion in force fields with short range correlations

open access: yes, 2009
We study the long time motion of fast particles moving through time-dependent random force fields with correlations that decay rapidly in space, but not necessarily in time. The time dependence of the averaged kinetic energy and mean-squared displacement

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Real Time Motion and Color Detection

open access: yesJournal of Zankoy Sulaimani - Part A, 2015
When using HD video cameras in stores a large storage space is needed. The required storage space can be decreased using motion and a color detection algorithm that makes the camera records only when a motion or a lighting change occur. So, in this work a real time motion and color detection is presented based on the difference of two successive ...

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Inverse and indirect mappings in embodied AI systems in everyday environments

open access: yesFrontiers in Computer Science
This paper explores how musicking technologies—interactive systems with musical properties—can enhance everyday public environments. We are particularly interested in investigating the effects of musical interactions in non-musical settings, such as ...

New possibilities of calculating the volumes of extracted masses in the surface mining of brown coal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The companies engaged in brown coal mining are looking for ways of managing the mining process as efficiently as possible. The principal mining technology used for brown coal mining in our country, but also in Germany and Poland, are wheel excavators ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Phase Coherence in Quantum Brownian Motion [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The quantum theory of Brownian motion is discussed in the Schwinger version wherein the notion of a coordinate moving forward in time $x(t)$ is replaced by two coordinates, $x_+(t)$ moving forward in time and $x_-(t)$ moving backward in time. The role of
