Time-of-Flight (ToF) Cameras for Underwater Situational Awareness

OCEANS 2019 MTS/IEEE SEATTLE, 2019
Recently developed commercial Time-of-Flight (ToF) cameras have been used to accurately and reliably measure scene depth with high resolution in applications such as automotive LiDAR. There is a desire to adapt this technology for applications in underwater environments. In this work, we establish a methodology for using modified commercial ToF cameras

ToF - The Time-of-Flight Device for H1

1995
Event triggering for the H1 detector on the HERA electron-proton ring is dominated by background associated with the proton beam. A 99% reduction in triggerrate is achieved by time resolution of background from physics using ToF -a scintillatordetector positioned in the incoming proton direction.

3D image correction for time of flight (ToF) cameras

SPIE Proceedings, 2008
The distance image from the ToF camera is affected by errors mainly due to multiple light reflections inside the camera body and by the indirect light illuminating the objects in the scene. These errors can't be avoided and in particular cases can be as great as 50%. The method presented corrects the measured distance errors to objects labeled with a

Femtosecond Laser-Based Time-of-Flight (TOF) Sensors

Optical Sensors and Sensing Congress (ES, FTS, HISE, Sensors), 2019
A new class of high-speed, high-resolution, and multi-functional time-of-flight (TOF) sensing method is demonstrated by utilizing electro-optic sampling of phase-locked microwave signals with femtosecond optical pulses. A ~1-nm resolution is obtained in only 14-ms averaging time.
