Self‐organized Criticality in Neuromorphic Nanowire Networks With Tunable and Local Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Memristive nanowire networks (NWNs) are shown to be electrically tunable to a critical state where specific local dynamics evaluated by multiterminal characterization are exploited as feature selection in nonlinear transformation (NLT) tasks.

Time–Temperature–Plasticization Superposition Principle: Predicting Creep of a Plasticized Epoxy [PDF]

open access: yesPolymers, 2019
Long-term creep properties and the effect of water are important for fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials used in offshore applications. Epoxies are often used as a matrix material in such composites. A typical design lifetime of offshore FRP structures is 25 or more years in direct contact with water leading to some deterioration of the ...

Sono‐Piezo‐Photosynthesis of Ethylene and Acetylene from Bioethanol under Ambient Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel sono‐piezo‐photocatalytic strategy enables the conversion of bioethanol to ethylene (C2H4) and acetylene (C2H2) under ambient conditions, addressing the limitations of conventional methods that are high‐temperature and energy‐intensive. By using an advanced graphene oxide/sodium bismuth titanate heterostructure catalyst, this work achieved ...

Creep Modeling of Wood Using Time-Temperature Superposition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The time-temperature superposition principle was used to develop long-term compression creep and recovery models for southern pine exposed to constant environmental conditions using shortterm data.

Dynamic Networks via Polymerizable Deep Eutectic Monomers for Uniform Li+ Transport at Interfaces in Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The PDEM‐based SIGPE provides a dynamic nanophase from Li+‐bridged molecular self‐association, enhancing electrochemical stability and facilitating uniform Li+ ion flux at the interface. This unique solvation structure results in a hetero species‐driven inorganic‐rich SEI and long‐term cycle stability, suggesting that a PFAS‐free Li+‐containing monomer

Superionic Disulfonic Acid Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A strategy is presented to enhance the mechanical and ion transport properties of acid‐functionalized polymers through controlled polymerizations of precisely designed disulfonic acid monomers with well‐defined functional group arrangements. This approach allows for fine control over molecular interactions, and unexpected hydrophobic characteristics ...

Application of the Time–Temperature Superposition Principle to Predict Long-Term Behaviour of an Adhesive for Use in Shipbuilding [PDF]

open access: yes
Financiado para publicación en acceso aberto: Universidade da Coruña/CISUG[Abstract]: The use of adhesives in the marine sector is rather limited at the time being, but their use in specific areas of the ship would be an advantage due, among other ...

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Experimentally simulating adiabatic behaviour: Capturing the high strain rate compressive response of polymers using low strain rate experiments with programmed temperature profiles

open access: yesPolymer Testing, 2022
Polymers are widely used in applications where they may be subjected to impact loading leading to high strain rate deformation. Plastic work on deformation generates heat in the material.

Chain-stretch relaxation from low-frequency Fourier transform rheology

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
Medium- or large-amplitude oscillatory shear (MAOS and LAOS, respectively) is sensitive to polymer chain structure, yet poses unsolved challenges for a priori structural characterization.
