Effect of Reinforcement on Early-Age Concrete Temperature Stress: Preliminary Experimental Investigation and Analytical Simulation

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2015
For concrete under short-term loading, effect of reinforcement on concrete crack resistance capability is usually negligible; however, recent research results show that extension of this viewpoint to concrete under long-term loading (temperature ...

Strategies for Controlling Emission Anisotropy in Lead Halide Perovskite Emitters for LED Outcoupling Enhancement

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The rise of lead halide perovskite semiconductors has enabled high‐performance LEDs with internal quantum efficiencies approaching 100%. In order to further enhance the external quantum efficiencies limited by light outcoupling effects, in this account, the strategies for reducing energy dissipation through the substrate, waveguide, and evanescent ...

Advanced rotor temperature estimation of permanent magnet synchronous machines for electric vehicles

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2020
The actual power capacity of permanent magnet synchronous machine for electric vehicles is usually limited by rotor temperature, and rotor overheating is one of the major reasons for permanent magnet synchronous machine failure. Therefore, an approach of

Ag‐Cu Nanoarchitecture for Enhanced LSPR Absorption: the Role of Surface Roughness and near‐field Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study investigates the plasmonic properties and biosensing capabilities of a nanocomposite incorporating Cu and Ag nanoparticles for detecting anti‐DbpA antibodies associated with Lyme disease. The enhanced LSPR response is explained through FDTD simulations of Cu–Ag near‐field interactions and increased surface roughness.

Influence of temperature on the dynamic and steady-shear rheology of pectin dispersions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The influence of temperature on the dynamic and steady-shear rheology of ionic polysaccharides, high-methoxyl and low-methoxyl pectins, has been studied and compared with the behaviour of locust bean gum, a virtually neutral biopolymer.
