Time-Variant Cluster-Based Channel Modeling for V2V Communications

2018 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2018
With the advent of vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication, the research on the propagation channel modeling between vehicles becomes a vital topic. In this paper, measurements of V2V radio channel are conducted in a suburban scenario. The measurements are performed at the center frequency of 5.9 GHz with a bandwidth of 50 MHz.

Tracking Time-Variant Cluster Parameters in MIMO Channel Measurements

2007 Second International Conference on Communications and Networking in China, 2007
This paper presents a joint clustering-and-tracking framework to identify time-variant cluster parameters for geometry-based stochastic MIMO channel models. The method uses a Kalman filter for tracking and predicting cluster positions, a novel consistent initial guess procedure that accounts for predicted cluster centroids, and the well-known ...

Improving time variant channel estimation for 3GPP LTE-downlink

2012 IEEE 23rd International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications - (PIMRC), 2012
Accurate estimation of the doubly selective mobile radio channels is essential to achieve satisfactory performance in wideband wireless communication systems like 3GPP LTE. Pilot Assisted Channel Estimation (PACE) techniques like Linear Minimum Mean Squared Error (LMMSE), Least Square (LS) etc.

Space Time Block Decoding in Time-Variant Channels

IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2005
This letter proposes a quadratic optimization decoding (QOD) for space-time block decoding in time-selective Rayleigh fading channels. When channels are fast fading, the simple decoding exploiting the orthogonal structure of the codes can not be used to achieve a proper error performance.

High‐resolution estimation for time‐variant MIMO channel sounding

European Transactions on Telecommunications, 2008
AbstractA wideband vector channel sounder with 16 parallel RF chains is proposed for parameter estimation in an indoor channel. Low‐cost and high‐resolution are obtained by using a chirp probe signal, five‐port receivers and the MUSIC algorithm. The system covers up to 500 MHz centred at 2.45 GHz.

Digital Transmission over Wireless, Time-Variant Channels

2018
Digital signal transmission over a wireless channel has become an important field due to the high flexibility and comfort of wireless connections for many users with the motto “telecommunications anytime and anywhere.” Therefore, in the following chapters, we describe the principles of such systems and their design in some detail. A significant part is

Estimators for Time-Variant Channels Applied to UMTS-HSDPA

2006 IEEE 7th Workshop on Signal Processing Advances in Wireless Communications, 2006
In this work we analyze the mean-square error (MSE) of two correlative channel estimators in time-variant channels. Both estimators make use of orthogonal basis functions that approximate the time-variant channel. The first approximation is based on a set of time shifted rectangular basis (RB) functions.

Distributed-parameter state-variable model for time-variant channels

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1971
Signals transmitted over certain randomly time-varying linear channels undergo spreading both in time and in frequency. This paper considers a particular class of doubly spread channels: those with an impulse response that can be represented as the output of a distributed linear system, the dynamics of which are governed by partial differential state ...

Performance Analysis of Coded Cooperation over Time-Variant Channels

2009
We contribute to the evaluation of the performance of a relaying technique called coded cooperation. This cooperation scheme involves two or more mobile stations (MS) that reciprocally transmit portions of their codewords through independent fading channels so as to achieve diversity.
