Extended GFDM Framework: OTFS and GFDM Comparison

open access: yes, 2018
Orthogonal time frequency space modulation (OTFS) has been recently proposed to achieve time and frequency diversity, especially in linear time-variant (LTV) channels with large Doppler frequencies.

Atomistic Insight into the Role of Threonine 127 in the Functional Mechanism of Channelrhodopsin-2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Channelrhodopsins (ChRs) belong to the unique class of light-gated ion channels. The structure of channelrhodopsin-2 from Chlamydomonas reinhardtii (CrChR2) has been resolved, but the mechanistic link between light-induced isomerization of the ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Investigating the WSSUS Assumption in 300 GHz Time-Variant Channels in Industrial Environments

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Vehicular Technology
This paper present an initial approach to the analysis of the stationarity of time-variant channels in industrial environments, focusing on three distinct scenarios: 1) communication between a static access point (AP) and a sensor node (SN) mounted on a ...

Channel Modeling and Characteristics Analysis under Different 3D Dynamic Trajectories for UAV-Assisted Emergency Communications

open access: yesSensors, 2023
This study involved channel modeling and characteristics analysis of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) according to different operating trajectories. Based on the idea of standardized channel modeling, air-to-ground (AG) channel modeling of a UAV was ...

Anomalous diffusion in disordered multi-channel systems

open access: yes, 2010
We study diffusion of a particle in a system composed of K parallel channels, where the transition rates within the channels are quenched random variables whereas the inter-channel transition rate v is homogeneous.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Assigning channels via the meet-in-the-middle approach

open access: yes, 2014
We study the complexity of the Channel Assignment problem. By applying the meet-in-the-middle approach we get an algorithm for the $\ell$-bounded Channel Assignment (when the edge weights are bounded by $\ell$) running in time $O^*((2\sqrt{\ell+1})^n ...
