Psychometric Properties of the Persian Version of Referee Self-Efficacy Scale (REFS) [PDF]
Introduction: Despite the importance of refereeing judgments and the sensitivity of referees' role in holding sports competitions and the impact of referees' decisions on the outcome of the game, little research has been done on various aspects of the ...

Time Consistent Discounting [PDF]
A possibly immortal agent tries to maximise its summed discounted rewards over time, where discounting is used to avoid infinite utilities and encourage the agent to value current rewards more than future ones. Some commonly used discount functions lead to time-inconsistent behavior where the agent changes its plan over time.

Time-Consistent Implementation in Macroeconomic Games
The commitment ability of governments is neither infinite nor zero but intermediate. In this paper, we determine the commitment ability that a government needs to implement a unique equilibrium outcome and rule out self‐fulfilling expectations. We show that, in a large class of static macroeconomic games, the government can obtain a unique equilibrium ...

Ehrenfest's Principle and the Problem of Time in Quantum Gravity [PDF]
We elaborate on a proposal made by Greensite and others to solve the problem of time in quantum gravity. The proposal states that a viable concept of time and a sensible inner product can be found from the demand for the Ehrenfest equations to hold in ...

Law invariant risk measures and information divergences
Aone-to-one correspondence is drawnbetween lawinvariant risk measures and divergences, which we define as functionals of pairs of probability measures on arbitrary standard Borel spaces satisfying a few natural properties.

Relative Consistency of Sample Entropy Is Not Preserved in MIX Processes
Relative consistency is a notion related to entropic parameters, most notably to Approximate Entropy and Sample Entropy. It is a central characteristic assumed for e.g., biomedical and economic time series, since it allows the comparison between ...

Integration of Landsat time-series vegetation indices improves consistency of change detection
Vegetation indices (VIs) were used to detect when and where vegetation changes occurred. However, different VIs have different or even diametrically opposite results, which obstructed the in-depth understanding of vegetation change. Therefore, this study

Optimal Time-Consistent Macroprudential Policy [PDF]
Collateral constraints widely used in models of financial crises feature a pecuniary externality: Agents do not internalize how borrowing decisions taken in "good times" affect collateral prices during a crisis. We show that agents in a competitive equilibrium borrow more than a financial regulator who internalizes this externality.

Does Day-to-Day Variability in Stool Consistency Link to the Fecal Microbiota Composition?
IntroductionStool consistency has been associated with fecal microbial composition. Stool consistency often varies over time, in subjects with and without gastrointestinal disorders, raising the question whether variability in the microbial composition ...

Time-Consistently Undominated Policies
This paper proposes and characterises a new normative solution concept for Kydland and Prescott problems, allowing for a commitment device. A policy choice is dominated if either (a) an alternative exists that is superior to it in a time-consistent subdomain of the constraint set, or (b) an alternative exists that Pareto-dominates it over time ...
