Celastrol‐Loaded Conductive Hydrogel Mitigates Myocardial Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury and Restores Electrophysiological Function

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the Pluronic F127 diacrylate/gelatin methacryloyl/poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate)/celastrol hydrogel (FGPC) for localized myocardial ischemia–reperfusion injury treatment. FGPC combines sustained celastrol delivery with PEDOT:PSS‐mediated conductive support to attenuate acute oxidative/inflammatory ...

Flow beyond intended expiratory flow termination: Why inspiratory pressure rise time should be integrated into Airway Pressure Release Ventilation (APRV) recommendations

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Ventilation
This letter highlights the role of the inspiratory rise time (IPRT) within the Time-Controlled Adaptive Ventilation (TCAV) protocol. While current guidelines emphasize adjusting TLow to terminate expiratory flow at approximately 75% of the peak ...

Synchronization‐Dissipation in the Cardiorespiratory System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By modeling central nervous coupling and viscoelastic interactions in the cardiorespiratory system we show that synchronization produces a 10% gain in cardiac efficiency in humans. It is surmised that respiratory sinus arrhythmia improves cardiac pumping efficiency by reducing dynamic stress and power dissipation in the pulmonary vasculature.

Membrane‐Active Peptide Protects Against Inflammation by Targeting NLRP3 Activation at the Trans‐Golgi Network

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The membrane‐active peptide Pep19‐2.5 reduces harmful inflammation by blocking activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome at trans‐Golgi network membranes. By targeting key membrane interactions, Pep19‐2.5 suppresses inflammatory IL‐1β production and alleviates allergic airway inflammation in mice, leading to reduced immune cell infiltration and improved ...
