Time-Division Multiple Access

1991
In multiple accessing through a satellite, uplink carriers can be separated in time rather than in frequency. Instead of assigning a frequency band to each uplink, we assign a specific time interval, and a given station transmits only during its allotted interval. This type of operation is referred to as time-division multiple access (TDMA).

Code time division multiple access: an indoor cellular system

[1992 Proceedings] Vehicular Technology Society 42nd VTS Conference - Frontiers of Technology, 2003
A wideband communications system for indoor cellular applications is proposed that is based on an accessing scheme called code time division multiple access (CTDMA). It combines some of the most important advantages of code-division multiple access (CDMA) and time-division multiple access (TDMA): a constant-envelope transmitted signal, a perfect ...

Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA)

2018
Time division multiple access (TDMA) is a method of transmitting and receiving multiple independent signals over a single transmission channel. The TDMA at the transmit side, known as the multiplexer, assigns multiple channels in preassigned time slots.

A Self-Synchronizing Time-Division Multiple-Access Network Protocol

2019 Wireless Telecommunications Symposium (WTS), 2019
Effective communication links in mobile collaborative autonomous systems enable enhancements of cooperative control algorithms such as those that dictate swarm performance and objectives. As individual nodes become smaller, the need for lightweight and low power communications is essential. In this paper, the authors describe the development of a novel

Advances on Time-Division Unbalanced Carrier Sense Multiple Access

2011 Proceedings of 20th International Conference on Computer Communications and Networks (ICCCN), 2011
Time-Division Unbalanced Carrier Sense Multiple Access (TDuCSMA) is a distributed MAC discipline compliant to the IEEE 802.11 standard that supports resource management and Quality of Service provisioning in Wi-Fi networks. This paper further highlights the compliance of TDuCSMA with IEEE 802.11 standard by suggesting the coexistence of TDuCSMA and ...

Time division duplex-code division multiple access for mobile multimedia services

Proceedings of 8th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications - PIMRC '97, 2002
The advantages of using a time division duplex-code division multiple access (TDD-CDMA) air interface for mobile multimedia services are presented, with reference to an equivalent frequency division duplex (FDD) CDMA system. In particular the flexibility and limitations of using an asymmetric channel are discussed.

Timing estimation of code division multiple access multiuser communication

1997 IEEE 47th Vehicular Technology Conference. Technology in Motion, 2002
Multiuser detection for code division multiple access direct sequence spread spectrum (CDMA-DSSS) usually requires the timing information of all users. However, in earlier study of multiuser CDMA communication, the determination of the timing was not well understood.

Time division multiple access methods for wireless personal communications

IEEE Communications Magazine, 1995
Time division multiple access (TDMA) is a classic approach to multiple access in digital cellular wireless communications systems. The authors summarize a number of frequency and time slot allocation techniques for enhancing the capacity and flexibility of TDMA-based systems. They also describe how the problems of fading, delay spread, time variability

A GNSS-Based Time Division Multiple Access Data Link

Air Traffic Control Quarterly, 1993
This article describes a concept for the broadcast of satellite-based position data. This data has the potential for use for air traffic control applications such as situational awareness or collision avoidance. The concept, called Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) time synchronized time division multiple access, uses a method of allocating ...

Time and frequency synchronization of orthogonal frequency division multiple access systems

ICC 2001. IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Record (Cat. No.01CH37240), 2002
We propose a non-data aided synchronization algorithm for orthogonal frequency division multiple access systems. The method is applied to both quasisynchronous and asynchronous systems. The proposed algorithm does not require the transmission of training sequences or of repeated symbols and, differently from all available methods, our frequency ...
